LOL I started playing mine back when it first snowed in October! lol.. But that is just a tradition for our family when we get the first snow .. Christmas carols come out. I also start playing them early because I enjoy listening to it. I love music. And I got some really good cd's that I like to hear . Its not about rushing the season to me. It might be for stores and all that, but not for us. Thats just my view on it .

I know, V yesterday asked me if we could skip Thanksgivign and go straight to x-mas, lol, and that was when we were driving pass Lowes and their gigantic wraths, lol!
I really don't care much, what really gets me is how commercial everything is, I'm just trying to enjoy this part of the year~

Gosh it is disgusting, isn't it!? I feel like it is being crammed down my throat.

If you can imagine, my parents used to say that Santa brought everything, even the tree! So on Christmas eve they had to put the tree up as well ! They wouldn't have been able to do that in this day and age, would they? And that is the sad part to me. The holiday has lost its magic for the kids. They see it for the reality it has become: a loud, crass, commercial and materialistic "Winterfest".

But... this is a good time to think about how to make it the kind of holiday we desire. What we will include or add, what we will delete or ignore, etc. We can paint our own picture!

as long as we remember what the real reason for Christ-mas is all about, in our hearts we should celebrate all year long, the gift giving is abit much, we still make each other gifts it means more

I agree with you on this, it wasn't even after Halloween and some stores were setting up their Christmas decorations.
Oh well, it's been getting more and more like this every year. Why..

You know, I think I like Thanksgiving better than Christmas. You get together with family and just enjoy each other's company without the worry of gifts. The whole gift giving thing has gotten way out of hand, I just like the family togetherness.

I'm with you on that! Only thing is, my kids have decided that Christmas is more important. I don't see any of them at Thanksgiving. Why.. I like it better and that day is more important to me. It holds much more fond memories for me. Oh, well...

I know what you mean but sometimes people want one or more of the holidays to hurry up and go by because they have painful memories. for example I have a friend that was raped every thanksgiving night by a relative that would come to her town only on thanksgiving so she refuses now to celebrate thanksgiving and wishes that it would just hjurry up and go by.

Wow, that is terrible!!! I can't imagine how that must feel... the memories will always be there... every year.

Tomi, my mom is so excited about christmas every year that she almost wants to start putting up decorations in September... seriously, it always ends in a huge fight with my dad!!! lol

I'll bet your mom is a lot of fun! That's her inner child wanting out to play BIG TIME! Why..

On my ride with my dog today, I saw someone putting up their Christmas tree. She had just taken down her Halloween stuff a couple days ago! LOL
