i am just curious, do others write replies only to delete them without posting them? write a new topic and decide not to post it after spending several minutes typing it out?
what causes this? why do i feel resentment to post/reply?

I have written replies and deleted them before posting them. Usually, because by the time I have gotten to the end I don't feel I have contributed a useful message, helpful or supportive addition to the conversation.

I do it all the time. By the time I'm done typing I feel like what I've had to say is useless and stupid. Not that I type a long post .. I just feel stupid saying anything.

Can't say I do it often, but yes, I do write out posts/replies and delete them without posting. When it's a reply I usually do it because I decide my reply won't contribute to the discussion. I delete posts for a variety of reasons.

Oh my gosh yes... all the time. I'm sure that if I wanted to sit down and analyze it for a while I suppose I could tell you why I delete them. I'm sure it must have to do with not wanting to post something that everyone will think is stupid or inappropriate or some other such silliness. Anyway, if you delete your replies instead of posting them, you aren't alone.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you said, "why do i feel resentment to post/reply?". I would like to hear more about what you mean... I THINK I understand what you're asking, but I'm not sure. Elaborate? |
