Not talking reincarnation here. I was sitting here contemplating my life last night. And it occurred to me that if I broke my life into sections, they seem like separate lives.
Long ago, we didn't live as long as we do today because of the "miracles" of science. I am 44 right now, and I can "see" that I have 6 different types/styles of my life, not roles or masks... they really are seem so drastically different from each other. Does anyone understand what it is I am trying to explain? Is this a mental health thing? Or just normal way that life is? __________________ |

I was born in 1950 so was 50 in 2000 and started contemplating my life, thinking about, "when I'm 88 and on my death bed, what will I regret?" that sort of thing? I suddenly wondered about my 1967 life dream and where it had gone and ended up picking it up again and moving forward with it (to where I am today, still pursuing it). That has been a weird experience sort of like you describe I think. In 1970 my life split and until 2001/02 I was living a different one than I was "supposed" to be? It has all come together well though, the split was not as abrupt as one would assume and works well with where I am, have gone now, it just was not something I could imagine back then, like a new branch of my tree growing instead of a "mistake".

There are moments that upon reflection, I see lifetimes, pass like so many chapters in a historical series of something ongoing, yet not finished yet. I have done this from a early childhood, and feel it is a normal internal checking in process for most at certain periods.
Hope this was helpful for your question. Jade |

I have been so many people in my life. It hasn't been tied to my roles or age. They have just came one after another until somewhere around 2000 some of them crashed into each other and started taking turns.
I am so surprised when people are only one person through life. I have found that being one person is the norm and that we are strange. If I live longer I'm sure more "lives" will develop. For me it has never been a youth thing, I always had this. __________________ |

It happens to me, too. I split my life in 'chapters', with each chapter being lived by a different me. So far I can say I'm disappointed by my past 'me'-s...

Do you ever feel like in conflict with your past lives?
Do you ever wish yourself back to one, idealizing how it was? __________________ |

I sometimes wish I could travel back in time, hopefully to change something.
@jadedburrefly Probably me neither, I can't tell now as I'm very depressed and naturally dislike myself. Most likely I'll dislike my current 'me' in the near future too |

I can definitely feel as if my life could be broken up into chapters, and I have not lived as long comparatively. Working on an autobiography really brings it to your attention as memories are brought to light. It can be an enjoyable experience.
It s nice to see how far you have come and/or the areas that could use more attention. |

I've been thinking about writing my autobiography in the future, but the question is: what am I going to do with it?

Yes...in fact i feel exhausted by it. I'm still relatively young which causes people to laugh if i dare go near the topic but i'm pretty worn already so not particularly looking forward to the rest of the trudge *shrugs*

I think I know what you mean. I have been me but different circumstances have meant Ive had different lifestyles. Ive had parents then no parents, extreme wealth then no wealth at all. I was a substitute mother then nothing. A home then no home. A chance at another life in another country with a wealthy man (which I walked away from) Its like a book. I know people that still go to their family home on a sunday for dinner. The same home their parents bought when they got married and they have had the same life for 40 years. Not me. Ive had to adapt to new beginnings since I was 12. It has its good and bad points.
