I wasn't sure where to post this, but I really need somewhere to post a list of things that I need to do today and tomorrow, as well as somewhere I can gain some encouragement to not be lazy, put it off, or be anxious of it, but to just get done what I need to.

Here it is:
1. Write a list of what units I feel comfortable working on in the hospital, and with the units I do not feel comfortable working on, to write about why I have the anxieties I do and to try to work through it so I feel okay to work on all the units.
2. Decide on a research topic for London's doctoral program application.
3. Email school representatives to see if they know how BPS doctorate compares to APA doctorate, so that I can leave the US, study abroad, and come back to the states to practice here.
4. Write down therapy goals to bring to session next time.
5. Deposit my check.
6. Get present for friend.
7. Email availability for work.

There's probably more. But that's all I can think of right now.

Oh you've got this! It's not a huge list, it's one thing at a time.
Thanks for this!

That's right, take it one item at a time and before you know it you will be done. Just start with one, then say congratulations and start the next one. I know you can do it.

That's absolutely the best and only way to tackle things---and it's often best to start with something kind of medium-hard, but not time-sensitive---and get yourself warmed-up from accomplishing that.

My days roll better and I get more done if I just keep ticking off items on the list.

Lists help so much. And hey, you're great. You got this. No need to rush. Tick off all you do and enjoy the feeling that comes from it. Treat yourself to something when it's all said and done, a movie, a good book.

You got this.

What a nice list! The APA can help you with #3:

"Should you plan to pursue a career in psychology that includes practicing in the US, you must be aware that there are statutory and regulatory requirements for licensure in the different state and (Canadian) provincial jurisdictions, and you should try to determine in advance how your education and training outside the US will meet those requirements."

It depends on what State you will practice in when you come back: Frequently Asked Questions About Psychology in the US for Those from Abroad

I'm currently taking a course at Oxford and struggling with some of the same sorts of questions. The education given/background needed seems quite different to me.

Thanks everyone! I was able to do #4 and #6.

Now just for the rest.... -_- haha. Maybe I should give myself a reward for every goal I finish. Any ideas?

Good progress! When your list is completed, you should soak in a bubble tub with a giant iced tea and a new book.

Emailing work on your availability for work may be the easiest thing on the list. And the fastest to finish. Hope you had a great day!

What I found about having my list on here was that it provided a level of accountability that I didn't have any other way...& with others reading & giving encouragement......I found it a great benefit....sounds like this is working for you also

Thanks everyone! All of this support is really helpful. I've been meaning to get back but life and an emergency situation got in the way. But updated progress:

Emailed work ability, deposited checks, got a present for my friend, came up with 17 possible dissertation topics, and emailed the schools.

Just left is therapy goals!

If you are like me however I have a running list that started several years ago......I keep adding to the list & feel wonderful when I get a few things accomplished.....especially when depression & anxiety is on a roll

You can do this. When you're done with all of this work, award yourself with a cup of coffee, a good book, and possibly an extra hour of sleep.

As Grey Matter said; You got this.
