I have so much energy and nothing to do! I can't think of anything to get rid of it

1) Clean your house from top to bottom, starting with the attic.
2) Dig a new root cellar or enlarge your existing one.
3) Begin training for a triathalon.
4) Run to and from work/school every day.
5) See how many days and nights in a row you can go without sleeping.
6) When you're done cleaning YOUR house, offer to clean you neighbors house... and your other neighbor... and...

I don't know about you, but doing any of these things will immediately take the wind out of MY sails!

Dan
Thanks for this!

That is dangerous advice! Lack of sleep can bring on a huge number of mental issues, please do not do this!

Exercise is always a good one to get rid of energy. Maybe going for a run or walk around the neighbourhood. What kind of hobbies do you have? Can this energy be directed towards them? Being social drains my energy, can you go and hang out with friends?
Thanks for this!

Gosh, I'm sorry if you mistook my silliness as being legitimate advice...

I wouldnt be the only one... there are many that rely on advice from here and writing it without a *just kidding* or otherwise after it is dangerous for people on this board. There are many young people that will not understand the difference between legitimate advice and advice that may seem obvious to us.

Cleaning is a great practical suggestion. You can feel good afterwards.
My suggestion is put some head phones on. Put the music on loud and dance until you drop.

Pick up a car. Oh ... wait.

That's for when men are so ... anxious they get ... let's just say it really friggin' hurts and the blood has to go somewhere else.

Exercise. Lower your sources of sugar, and caffeine.

Ah! Got it... Point well taken.

If that's the case, it probably isn't a very good idea to begin digging a new root cellar either...

So, have you figured out what to do about all your extra get-up-and-go?

Wow... I can remember those days when I was full of energy... but as the saying goes, my get-up-and-go got up and went.

But then, it seems to do that every winter.

Ah, but look out summer cuz here I come!

My best energy consumer was always several hours of playing racquettball......played everyday at lunch.....it was a great way to keep in shape & get rid of any spare energy I might have had,

Also in the winter....love x-country skiing with the dogs or snow-shoeing....obviously I like this in the back country....but where ever you can find a nice area....it's wonderful if you are in snowy country.

Cleaning is great, it does 2 things: uses up energy and..you see a result and feel organised and efficient. A tidy habitat helps alot with problems of the mind IMO.

It can be a where do I start thing though so if you want to just do high energy chore Id choose...

cleaning the windows inside and out, using an extending kit for the upper windows (loads of energy needed)

hoovering then hand cleaning floors

Figure out how you want to change the world to improve it. Put all your focus on figuring out how you are going to do this. Though mental work, it can also be social, and is extremely exhausting.
