Hi folks!

I've now been here at PsychCentral 10 years... everything is "used to be" this or "used to do" that here... just a plain ole' member of late...just reminiscing now

IN MY LIFE
Beatles

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

JD, nothing "wrong" with being a plain ole' member. Isn't that what most of us are? You ask in your sig if 10 years is too long to be here. I'd say if you are still getting what you need, then it's not too long. Remember, it's ok for needs to change.

Thanks for posting the song lyrics. I love that song.
Thanks for this!

I guess Psych Central is like life, it is ever changing. And I think it says a lot about the site that you have been here 10 years. It works to have contact with fellow sufferers whether they are healed yet or not. That is encouraging. It has stability.

And yet---the thread hasn't even warranted the usual 10% of readers to post.
Has that changed too? Are there more lurkers than posters here? Oh--wait--I forgot those who are stalking me IRL may make up many of the "readers" just curious as to what I'm saying (as if the cameras they put in my house aren't enough?)

Be well.

I have been lurking/posting less often in the past month because of multiple stressors. I am trying to spend time w/ my mom who has cancer again so sometimes I go several days without being here at PC.

I hope you continue posting if that helps you. I know it helps me to read your insightful posts.

Wow JD, that is impressive to me. I didn't even know about this site until last spring, but I sure wish I had for the last ten years.
Coram Deo is what I am trying to get back to. I had that dialed in once upon a time, got lost, now working my way back. It is the only important thing at the end of the day...so to speak...
Thanks for the reminder to be mindful...
You are much appreciated.

((((JD))))

I can understand what you're saying. I often look back to certain aspects of life in general and wonder what happened. Why is that gone? I can't see any hope for some areas in my life, and that is depressing to me.

I haven't been here for a decade yet (wow!! kudos to you!), but it's been almost 5 years now. I have seen lots of members come and go within that time period. I've also met a lot of really sweet newer people in the last year or so too though. Some losses have been hard for me. I tend to become emotionally attached to some people for whatever reason. Losing that relationship is hard. It also makes me even more wary of putting myself out there emotionally. And that's a big drawback!

Gentle hugs sent your way.

I've been here 8 years, soon to be 9. Hard to believe. Time does fly.

JD, probably the reason you haven't had many replies is because we've all been in the whirlwinds of the holidays. I'm glad you're here.

Hey, JD - I've been here only 3 years but things have changed in that period of time. Many participants are no longer active. And, there are a lot more topic areas and threads to read. It's impossible to read everything! It takes me days to find threads where I feel competent to post sometimes. So, the good news is that PC has grown and developed and, I hope, we all are. As always, I support you in your efforts here at PC. Keep posting!!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
