Oh, how I would love purple highlights! It's so silly, because I'm a 39-year-old mother of two, living with a 57-year-old man, but OMG I want them! Lol I have very dark hair and think just a little purple would be so cool!

Nonsense! There's nothing wrong with adding a little colour to your day! Purple's a beautiful choice, by the way. Since you have dark hair, you're doomed to either getting a dye job for dark hair or having to bleach it, then dye it. Oh, but the possibilities of purple are endless! You could always dye it dark again after words! Do it! You Must! Oh, my- I've turned into quite the devil in your ear. So sorry. There's also clip in strands, if you want something even more temporary.

It is so absolutely NOT silly! I'm 51 yrs of age and have long dreadlocks. I visited Paris 2 years ago and was delighted with the older Parisian women, because they dress more colorfully than the younger women do. Go for those purple highlights!
Thanks for this!

39? So? My wife, who is 39 also, has her hair a very dark purple (it looks like a dark red actually unless she's in bright light) with black highlights.

Highlight your hair! Do it! Throw in some blue too!

Oh I would seriously love a purple streak. But I'm 45 and an accountant and just can't see my clients going for it. I'll live vicariously through you.

You would be surprised. These days women with a touch of color in their hair are often seen as being vivacious and vibrant. You know, energetic and full of life ... a little spunky. It's not like it was years ago. My wife never got so many compliments on her hair as when she started adding a splash of red or even the green and blue she had once.

Now if you have Teflon implants in your forehead, green hair, tattoos clear down to your fingers and a plate in your lip, that miiiiight not be so great for attracting clients.

So I decided to dye all of it, but even though the dye was specifically for dark hair, it didn't come out as purple as promised. My boyfriend says he'll help me next time. :-)

I think it looks really nice - it's clearly purple but not over the top.
