This is how people talk:
"That's so gay"
"That ******!"
"What a b----!"
"I hate her/him"
"That's stupid"

This is what this really means:
"That makes me upset"
"They made me upset"
"They hurt my feelings"
"They hurt my feelings"
"That upsets me"

As I mentioned in a previous thread, I want to get to know everyone and know their stories but everyone I talk to is like "Yeah and then my parents did this lame thing and like it was so gay."

So I just stick to the internet ^-^

My parents are concerned about this but.......why?

Why I don't socialize It's very sad that the English language has been subjected to such abuse as to lend itself to abusing my intellect as well. I also find may of those way sof speaking a turn off to any conversation with many individuals I have met, known and worked it in the past. There are a very limited number of those higher brain humans out there in society and you are rarely lucky to be working with them and having actual conversations with them. What is also very discouraging is ti finding myself slipping into these happens by means of subconsciously mimicking the idiot box (TV).
Why I don't socialize

Exactly how I feel! I'd gladly interact with a sensible intelligent human being but the world seems to be lacking that, therefore I find people on the internet to converse with

But if you tell anyone that exact statement the reply often heard is that "you should get out more."

If screens were more compatible with sunlight, I would surf the web outdoors and that would solve both issues.

It is very sad. People are so ignorant and stupid these days.
They are also very uninteresting. (At least where I live)
I would love to have a deep and/or meaningful conversation with the people I know but that isn't going to happen very soon.
And using the words 'gay' and '******' in a negative way also doesn't help gay people feel much better about themselves. (even though they didn't mean it like that)

That is why I love the internet. You meet so much more intelligent people who don't have 'swag' and 'yolo' in their vocabulary.

One of my favorite philosophical ideas and concepts I like to open a discussion with is that most folks hate organized religion and as such want to say there is no God. I preface this by saying that although science cannot prove the existence of a soul or God as science has to do with many test and verifiable results. But physics has come across many quantum particles that point to something you could call God. You would need to learn about "quantum entanglement" to learn more. But more basic than that is the concept of the first law of thermodynamics. "Energy cannot be created or destroyed".

This means that in the big picture of cosmic stuff' there is "energy" and "matter". Matter can be converted into energy but only energy can create matter. Thereby showing that if there is a God one could assume that it would all matter converted back into a singular source of energy. But I think there is much more to it but for a basic pointer to a God or the material creating a God, this is it. -Any thoughts anyone?

Exactly. I agree with every single thing you just said.

Though I've studied a bit of quantum mechanics, I'm still pretty ignorant to the topic. My primary thoughts on the existence of God, though....

What if history was erased? The bible lost, destroyed, forgotten. No one knew the stories from it. Humanity would go on living life. Science would be rediscovered. The idea of God would not.

Oh no, the more you look into anthropology studies you learn that the most primal humans had already began to worship the sun. It would seem that it is the nature of humans to believe in a God or spirit within their existence. I could go on to cite native American cultures and many worldwide. This is why I tell folks to turn of the dam TV and forget music and pop culture and fight like hell to learn all you can. If society is crapping on you anyway and you feel you do not fit in then why not be alone, learning and sharing with those who care about it. I am a member of several forums. It is fun to discuss ideas and research with them but mostly I get depressed as these folks have houses, garages and places to build and experiment. I live in a tiny 1 bdrm apt. I have no money and when I do it goes to pay off my 10k in debt I have accumulated.

One subject worthy of note if you like mystery stories are the reading and history of Edgar Cayce.
I promise that as you look into his work you will find many interesting things to research online that might bring you excitement.

That is true! People would probably begin to worship something else, some other deity.

Oh cool! I'll have to watch that when I can Thanks!
