All I have ever wanted was one child, that's it, I'm not selfish, just one. However, I have been taking drugs for bipolar for four years now with a year and a half of no medication between.
I have tried: Celexa, Trazadone, lithium, Lamictal, Resotril, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Abilify, Seroquel, Zyprexa, Geodon, Melatonin, L-Tryptophan and Benadryl and the carcinogen, Gabapentin.

Finally after frying my brains they discovered that Lamictal and Restoril work for me. I am 27 years old and worry that I'll never have a baby now. I wonder if I still can after all this drugging for years now? I would never subject a baby to drugs. But I was thinking I could have a rare year and a half of no medication again and sneak a baby into that year?

I would consult with an obstetrician, your pharmacist, and even do some personal research. Best wishes.
Thanks for this!

You definitely can, it is just a matter of discussing it with your psychiatrist and doing some research. I have had the same discussion with my gynecologist and psychiatrist, and while having my own child will probably not happen at this point, there are medications that may not be the best for your depression, per se, but can keep you "maintained" while being pregnant.

That being said, I also understand not wanting to be on medication at all while pregnant, and I think you can do that also you just have to really work with your healthcare professional to maintain your "balance" while not medicated.
Thanks for this!

Pregnancy is tough. It might not be a good idea to try it totally unmedicated.
