Well, I'm not sharing my name. But my two first names mean exactly the same thing. One has greek origins the other comes from latin.

Bright light, is what they both mean. I think this is pretty ironic. They were not chosen by their meaning and I get them both to be a shinning light, which I'm not. The oposite indeed. Will I ever be a shinning light?

My given name means white, I have two other names which were used for baptism and confirmation these mean pearl and pure. My family name means Son of the cheiftan of the water, but as I'm female we'll change that to daughter. So putting these meanings together in their most lyrical order I'm: Pure White Pearl, daughter of the chieftan of the water. I prefer Fiona.

My name is Hebrew meaning ,"Who is like God?" or "Who is as God?" based off an angel in the bible.

This is considered a rhetorical question, because it is answered, "No one is like God."

However, I disagree. We are all Gods.

This game is a good way to let people reverse lookup the name. I don't think this game is a great idea if you are uncomfortable with the possibility.

My name is Alexandra. It has no specific origin, it has a few. Like myself.
It means protector in some languages. Maybe? I don't know.
I don't care if people know my name but I definitely agree with doyoutrustme.

Like atomicc says, you are correct in bringing the risk respectfully to other's attention. That being said, though, I have no concerns with first name. Still, as a just in case, I prefer to remain under my alias because I feel I identify more with it.

It's probably a good idea to let people know the risk, sort of an "informed consent." I don't care if people know my name either, but it's kind of more fun to have them guess.

It's Hebrew and it means "friend, wife, lover, and soulmate." My husband would say that's exactly what I am to him. What's even funnier is that my nephew has a cat named Soulmate, and we now say the cat and I have the same name.
Thanks for this!

Here's something about my real names:

My given name was a clan/family name for centuries
before it became a given name. The clan in
question was traditionally the vanguard of the
Scottish army in the field, and their castle would
be the first target of any English attack (it was
as far south as you could go and still be in Scotland).
Their motto consists of the French words meaning "never
behind". The name would this suggest standing your
ground in the face of an enemy attack, and thus
protecting the people behind you.

As for my family name: The clan MacNeill is said to
be one of a group of five clans that can trace
one line of their ancestry back to the fifth-century
Irish high king (or shogun, in effect), Neill of
the Nine Hostages.

My mother, father and I all have Greek based names although we are not of Greece. It means honey. My last name is of no importance as my ex husband and I both changed our last name. funnily enough its origins lie in England and thought to originate in the land of the Vikings. Funny because that is where the greater amount of my ancestors are from. My middle name means a ray of sunshine. There is nothing sweet or sunshiny about me. I've thought about changing my name to Tiamat ( she was the goddess of chaos, among other things).

No hang ups about my name here, I've never bothered hiding it.

Ophelia is Greek in origin and has 2 distinctly different meanings:
1. Helper
2. Serpent

Can't help thinking my name is as biplar as I am
