Is there a name or something for children who pluck out their eyelashes and than start pulling out hair on the top of their head. One strand at a time.
Is this a symptom of a know condition? Does anyone know what this is about? How about arm and leg kicking/hitting? If hit in the arm he smacks himself in the other. In the same location. So if it is a shoulder hit, he hits the other shoulder. If it is a knee, the other knee gets hit. And the hit is with a comparable amount of force. The him is me. I was going to wait to see what the response was but, that is just silly. I'm 45 years old now. I did that stuff. |

The hair pulling may be related to trichotillomania. There is a forum here for this in relation to OCD. The hitting sounds like it may also be OCD related, or a form of self injury. I also pulled out my lashes and brows as a child, and for me it was anxiety related.
I hope this was helpful. Please take care. Edit: ha! I still pull out my lashes, too. Last edited by Gr3tta; Apr 17, 2014 at 08:59 PM.. Reason: added something. |
