i am feeling very irritated and need a place to let my anger out in that lets me express it. regardless of your opinion on the subject im about to explain i don't really care and i don't want an agruement, this is simply a way for me to get my anger out in a healthy way.

over the weekend i was pulled over but a very nasty cop in regards to not having the seatbelt strap over my chest, but it was in fact buckled in. the cop issued me a ticket for this whihc really pissed me off. the cop then tells me i need to change the address on my license since i moved with the reason " if you are in a wreck we need a currrent address to find someone of relation" i immeditaly and not in th enicest tone tell this jerk if that happens they need to go the the address on my license now because thats where you will find someone of relation."
before any of you seat belt advocates have a feild day with " reason why i should wear it" nonsense know that the reason i dont not wear it is because the strap that comes across the chest no matter how i adjust it digs into my neck....how is that safe, if i were to break suddenly for any reason im getting my neck sliced into....that doesn't seem very safe. the fact that i was pulled over when i inface had the seat belt on but was given a ticket because the cross strap was placed behind the seat irritates me beyond belief. the seat belt law and given a ticket for it is completely stupid, its a choice...if i choose to not wear a seatbelt and die because of it...hey its my choice....but if i die because im stuck in a car because law dictates my choice of a seat belt then that is ridiculus.

wearing a seat belt should be a choice not a punishable law by fines....im not the best finanically and i cant wear a seat belt properly because of it digging into my neck, so im punished for something thats causing me pshyical strain whihc in turn iscausing more finanical strain even though i follow all traffic laws. seat belts need a mjor overhaul to be more suited for people of all shapes and sizes to be more comfortable if they want to make it a stupid law and can fine you for it. a fine in which is only in place to steal money form law abiding citizens for the governments own selfish uses... high taxes aren't enough jerks?

on top of the fine the cops attitude was not necessary, cops feel like they rule the world and everyone is beneath them, when he approached the first time i was polite and did everything he asked and was given the attitude of someone who was a hard criminal or completely stupid and incompentant, why do they feel the need to be **********s when im being polite in the first place.

I think you can buy a seat belt cover so that it does not dig into your neck. Just one question for you, how would you feel if your unseat-belted body was flung onto an oncoming car full of children and then those children died as a result of you not wearing a seat belt? Could you live with that?

well no because i would be dead...so i wouldn't have to live with it. the seat belt cover doesn't help, i have tried adjusting everything front the height of the seat belt itself to the height and depth of my chair and it still digs in, im also highly claustraphobic and when its around me snuggly i go into panic attacks, which is more of a danger in causing me to wreck that not wearing it at all.
and how would i feel being trapped and possibly burning to death slowly if my car caught on fire from a wreck, yeah those kids may be saved but id die a terrible death either way. its alot of if's and my main irriatation is why no redesign of the seat belt to be more comfortable by all body types and fines should not be issued for not wearing them.

Every driver needs to wear a seat belt any time the car is in motion. I'm sorry you were stopped by a jerky cop, but the bottom line is...wear a seat belt.

I am in the 'every driver needs to wear a seatbelt' group. I was in an accident 17 years ago that would have resulted in my death had I not been wearing one. I never drive without mine securely buckled, and neither do my passengers. In fact, I won't shift into drive if someone hasn't buckled up.
Thanks for this!

Damn straight. It annoys/worries me when my dad won't put his seatbelt on BEFORE turning on the ignition and driving off; he does eventually put it on, but it's not exactly the safest method.

Ace, I have the same problem with the seat belt choking me all the time. One time I did not have it on and I was stopped by a state policeperson. I didn't argue with him and quietly took my ticket. But, I explained why I did not have it on and asked him what he suggested I do so I did not crush my windpipe if I was in an accident. He just told me to wear the seat belt.

I knew some nurses who worked in a rehab facility. They always said that they saw some horrible cases of people who suffered closed head injuries from their brains being thrown against the inside of their skull in accidents while they were wearing their seat belts. The nurses all said they would rather be dead than suffer this type of injury.

I agree. It should be my choice. Nobody tells me I cannot smoke which is equilly as dangerous to my health and survival. I receive no fine if I choose to eat a diet high in sodium and fat which will also kill me. What is the difference?
Thanks for this!
