I need people's opinions on something. In my house I have a spare room. Currently everything I own is in my bedroom - media center, computer, many, many books...you get the idea.

Now what I want to do is make the spare room either a study or a library. But I can't decide which. So, folks of Psych Central, which would you choose, and why?

Possible for both? A mix of the two. I always thought they were sort of the same thing.

Hello, Scoopenator. It is your house. You have to live in it. So, make the decision?

Both can be done nicely in the same place. It does not take much space. Have seen lovely rooms with bookcase(s), desk /chair, and then a more comfortable reading chair, possibly a foot stool or ottoman for it, and a side table with lamp to make it both a study and a library.

I also have a spare room and I have been making plans forever! It's big enough to be divided so I decided some day I will make a reading corner surrounded by books and the other area for my tech thingies.

I decided it cannot have an Internet computer in it, because I need an area to sort of inspire to listening to the radio or reading a book. I usually just turn on the comp and do everything on it, and I don't think it is good for me.

I would probably make it into a computer area. I don't think that fits library or study in particular, but I have a lot of computer stuff that I really need a separate office space. Even though if the room were big enough I would probably have some bookcases in there too.

Where you plan to read your books? Do you have a comfortable chair in the spare room? Or, are they academic books which you need for a study?
