My one dog Kelley, seems bored. The three cats don't really interact with her. I have always wanted a Golden Retriever, and on Petfinder there is a 7 year old female Golden who was given up due to the owner's illness. She is already housebroken ( a good thing for me, since I'm not very good at housetraining!) My own dog is 8 years old, and still puppy playful, and lately she has been breaking out of the yard and wandering around. She was gone for two days recently, and finally returned after I called and called for her, hearing her barks in answer to me. I feel sure a neighbor had her in their yard thinking she was lost!
I fixed the gate she broke to get away, and I am feeling a "friend" might be good for both of them.

sounds as if you could use a friend for your dog. be sure that your dog and the other one are compatible before you bring the new one home.............xoxoxo pat

Pat, I really won't know if they're compatible till I bring her home??? But!!! Kelley has always enjoyed her doggy visitors, even my daughter's aging surly Jack Russell, "Pepe." Another Yorkie mix squirms under the fence occasionally, and they are so happy playing.
The foster mom of this Golden assured me if it didn't work out, she'd take her back....The same philosophy I"ve always had when rescuing out dogs and finding them homes.
I have this next week off, and maybe we'll give it a try during that time.

Good luck. It's good for them to have doggie friends.

Hope it works out, post a picture of the dog maybe? :3
