I' ve been out of touch because I'm mostly at my friend's house where all I have is my tablet computer. I see on posts here where many of you use "Tapatalk." I subscribed to it, thinking it would make typing on the tablet easier. Well it doesn't . . . not for me. I don't get what it is supposed to be good for. This is so excruciating . . . texting on this virtual keyboard. Am I missing out on something that makes using a mobile device easier? Some of you are doing this on little phone screens. What do you know that I don't . . . or you just are more patient than I. Thanks for any tips . . . and if anyone can explain Tapatalk.

There's no magic trick, you just have to get used to it. If you have a tablet, many have keyboards you can purchase. At least the iPad does.

Two things help for me.
1. Is in the my profile, i set the text size to like 170 percent so its easier to read -pc anyway. Only problem comes when some people goof up their font and or color setting and it gets HUGE - then you can turn it off snd read their post, then reset it. 2. I buy styluses on amazon - they wear out kinda quickly but they are very cheap. I turn my phone to landscape so the electronic keyboard is fairly large. I even found a stylus that has a super long springy cord. They just plug into the earphone hole. Hope this helps! |

I use the browser even on my iPad. I hate the tapatalk app. I just go through the browser and it looks and works just like I'm on my laptop. I do the same thing with Facebook because I hate the FB app on Ipad. Works much better for me.

I prefer tapatalk to using pc on web on my android screen.
My son tells me there's a setting that you can connect letters that draws line that he says makes typing easier, i don't find it easier, that's one option. Using an android keyboard, I'm used to text typing, not as great as using an actual keyboard. There are keyboards you can purchase for tablets and ipads. Can't use certain pc features from tapatalk, but overall, it's a tool for many when sitting down to a home computer isn't viable. Like with a keyboard, memorization of where letters and symbols occurs. Takes time and practice. I've thin fingers, and this isn't too terrible for me. I got a new phone about two months ago. I don't like tapatalk. But on my phone I don't care for typing with one finger. I saw a stylus at Walmart which seemed overpriced. Turning the phone sideways (landscape) is helpful but awkward.

Thanks for the input. I guess there is not some big secret that I'm missing, which is what I thought. I still don't get the Tapatalk deal at all. Might just have to use it for awhile to learn. But I'm not alone in the things I dislike, so it's probably that they just aren't for everyone.
I'm new to the tablet world . . . got one as a gift. I really do like it. You could end up spending more on accessories than the tablet cost. I'm also finding that some of these free downloadable apps are come-ons to get you to buy more stuff. |

I used Tapatalk on my android phone because PC didn't give me enough space to type & see what I was writing in the reply.....but with Tapatalk....I am continually forced to report an error after replying....don't know what the problem is......so I don't use my phone much for replying & go mostly to my computer.
Features on Tapatalk are limited also & just not as nice as just plain old PC on the computer.....but sometimes you want to communicate when away from the computer....so the least of the 2 evils.....I use tapatalk & just deal with the nuisance it causes __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. Tapatalk is so different, I get completely disoriented on it. Thanks for more input. I guess I was just expecting too much of it. Typing will likely always be easiest on a desktop.
