perhaps more cute than funny, but:

we were talking about oliver twist- and my sister (about 8 at the time) asked.. do you know why he called oliver twist oliver twist?

and when none of us is knew the answer, she responded with,

because everything starts out bad for him, but by the end it gets better

i don't think that's the real reason, but that's so cute!

We took our son to the fair last night and rode several rides. One of them had us lying on our stomachs, stretched out, and gave a real feeling of flight. It's a pretty exciting ride.
During the ride he yelled to me "My legs are scared, but I pushed them down and now they feel better!".

LOL.

My son is very excited by new experiences, and looks forward to doing big-boy stuff. So much so that he enjoyed his first trip to the dentist, lol. He was all smiles as he showed me his new toothbrush and timer (so he will brush his teeth for 2 minutes).

We'll see how his next trip goes. He has 6 cavities.

My son was convinced by a friend that he has eyes in his checks and in the back of his head. When I pointed out that he couldn't see with his eyes closed, he said, "well those eyes let me see stuff inside my head".

My son has confused "human" with "adult" so that he tells us he's looking forward to being a human some day, and sometimes asks us what it's like being a human.

LOL.

My friends kid see's his dad on the weekend and started calling Saturday - Saturdaddy. xD

Same kid, different time, we got on a tram and some guy was on there who lost his arm and the kid just shouts "THAT MANS ARM FELL OFF". Oh man it was embarrassing, my friend had to apologise to the guy and he just laughed and said it was fine he has kids who joke about it too then waved at the kid with his armless arm.

My 17 yr old daughter and I went into town yesterday afternoon for lunch. We went to Panda Express and were eating some Chinese food when she looked up and pointed across the parking lot. She said, "You think it's a coincidence that there's a pet store right next to the Chinese restaurant?"

I just laughed my butt off and shook my head. She was kidding of course, but she can be a crack pot sometimes.

When I was pregnant I asked my 4 year old nephew if he would like a girl cousin or a boy cousin. He said, "If you don't mind, I'd really rather have a horse."

Kids nowadays have access to so many resources including the internet and the tv and their minds just have the ability to grasp so much and think much more than us

I was so proud of my son the other day. He came up to me and said, "Dad, I want to tell you something. I feel bad because I lied to you the other day. Then he told me specifically what he said that was a lie."

I still think it's hilarious when my 7(almost 8)yr old tells me he is tired and ready to go to bed.

My son is 6 years old and very, very intelligent (he will be tested for the gifted programs in his school this year). Anyway, since he was about 3, he knew the words he wanted to say but just had trouble pronouncing them a lot of the time, so he had his own vocabulary, some of which I had to really think about to figure out what he was trying to say. Here were 2 of his words/phrases that I can think of right away:

BANANA SQUIRREL = BANANA SWIRL
LAWN DREAMS = LAUNDRY

I know it's only been a few years, but he has come such a long way with his vocabulary and articulation, and I'm so proud of him. He even taught himself how to read and currently reads at the 2nd grade level.

When my (now 27 year-old) son was three, he asked me and my husband if worms have souls. I left that one for my husband to answer

My daughter, years ago, complaining, in the car, about her brother, one thing after another till she finally yelled out "HE IS LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW!"
cracked us up, which, of course caused a great scowl that I still have a photo of...

My grandson imitating his "PaPa" walking (bow-legged, side-stepping) with a very intent expression, not telling anyone what he is doing but the walk such a perfect impression
