378 people 'pay it forward' at Fla. Starbucks

This is so kewl. One person paid it forward at Starbucks. People the rest of the day continued. I thought we all could stand to hear something positive.

I guess I don't understand how buying someone a coffee, then having someone buy you a coffee is paying it forward... Paying it forward is supposed to be meaningful. Coffee just doesn't seem to fit the bill to me. The first person who bought someone a coffee was being nice but I don't think it's paying it forward.

I hope that I'm not hurting anyone's feelings with this opinion.

No feelings hurt, at least on my part The Well. I guess I never put any kind of monetary value on paying it forward. To me paying it forward is doing something nice for someone else with no intent to be repaid.

Whether it was paying it forward or not, I still think it's incredibly kewl that 378 people in a row were willing to buy coffee (or anything else) for someone else.
Thanks for this!

I work in a coffeehouse & every once in a while a customer will give me a few dollars and tell me that's it's for the next customer's order. A sweet and fun gesture, I think. And helpful! There have been times in my life when I was desperate for an espresso drink, but didn't have the money for one.
