Have you ever given it some serious thought.
Get away from the stereotypes and think about what is beautiful to you.

In people? Having their style, their thing and pulling it off. A person you notice on the subway and remember for a long time (aka years ago I seen this elderly lady in longish pink summer dress with sparkling applications, shoes with gems and long white hair she wore down. She looked awesome, like she was owning the damn city).

And I like different. It makes me happy to see unique people.

something beautiful? i find beautiful and interesting anything that's out of my reach
for example, i find the universe really amazing and beautiful - because im far away from it. what's far from us allows us to imagine and fantasize all we want.
as for people, err, im not sure, i find beautiful when people are independent. when they have their own views, and its like they're pure adrenaline. i love that kind of person who's independent and yet cares a lot and defends other people. i like fair people.
as in physical beauty standards, im not sure. im not good at making eye contact, but the first thing i notice in a person is their eyes.
Thanks for this!

When it comes to people: The most beautiful people to me are the ones who are passionate. I SO SO SO SO love it when someone is almost obsessed by something, can talk for hours about that one thing they care so much about. Whether that thing interests me or not... True passion really is the most amazing thing to me. And I wish that everyone of us finds it one day... and goes for it. Completely, 100%. The world would be such a beautiful place. Don't you think?

Christina Aguilera, apparently. She is beautiful in every single way. No matter what they say, words can't bring her down.

Strength.. Not in the physical way, but mentally, someone who has gone through a struggle but still finds it in themselves to smile, wake up go to school. That's beautiful to me. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, it just takes the right people to see it.

What kind of "beauty" are we talking about? There is "physical" beauty, which is pleasing to the eye....but there is also beautiful music, which is pleasing to the ear....beautiful poetry, pleasing to the heart/soul, etc. etc. When I think of a beautiful person, I have their personality in mind, more so than appearances.

Seeing these pregnant women at pool showing it off, covered and uncovered. Big women, small women, medium women, who walk tall, knowing what value comes in esteem of their bodies. That's reality here. Guess that is part of the equation as a si, sa teen, that i was when moving here decades ago...it helped.

I actually haven't been wearing the short cover ups to the tankinis, and feels good to let go of the negative self conscious. .and if a bit of my belly shows sometimes, so what of it?

I'm with Slamjammer. What kind of beauty are we talking about?

In terms of non-human beauty, things that touch my heart are beautiful. They may or may not be physically beautiful in the traditional sense, but if they reach out and touch me they are beautiful.

If we're talking about appearances, i've always been more interested in non conventional beauty. We all have different ideas about what this constitutes, for me it means people who don't look like bratz dolls.

But beauty goes beyond what the eyes see or what the surface shows. Beauty is a very broad yet deeply personal topic.

Eyes(not so much color, although I do have a thing for blue and green eyes), the shape but especially how expressive they are, the look in them.
What really makes someone beautiful, is the way their personality manifests on the outside. Some people have this natural elegance about themselves, partly a physical thing and partly from the inside, a reflection of who they are. I also find it beautiful when a person "feels" nice and trustworthy, I guess it's tied with charisma.

There is a type of physical build (in many variations according to stature for ex)that I usually find more attractive than the rest, naturally athletic I call it, not the pumped up at the gym type but rather the build of someone who exercises for fun and health.

Other than that, physically, I can find all sorts of features and combinations of features, beautiful.

I have a thing for voices as well, the type of voice Hugo Weaving ,Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman have.

Beautiful to me is... a great smile, honesty, respectfulness, appreciation, a good sense of humour, a BIG heart full of love compassion and joy. Inner beauty!

Quiet confidence is beautiful. You just glow!

This is hard for me to describe.

Don't know if I'd be good at this.

(Sorry, I had to look off some answers to give me ideas. Trying to attempt giving helpful advice.).

Beautiful is something that a person would find unique about you. Being what describes you as an individual. Not having the likeness of any other, with a mindful and nurturing intuition.

The beauty in that person would be that they are the most understanding. Not letting anyone's opinion tell them different about you. Someone who would never doubt your own existence.

(The last sentence didn't really make any sense)

Anything that makes your heart swell with positive emotions is beautiful.

It's a very personal and subjective thing.

When it comes to people, I think beauty is very different to being pretty. Pretty people can be beautiful but beautiful people needn't be pretty. So it's a shame we live in a culture that doesn't seem to understand the difference and tries to commodify beauty. You can't buy or manufacture it.

I find the human body to be beautiful, not appearance (though it's beautiful in it's own right ) but what's inside and what makes us "tick." The intricacy of the relationships of all the complex body systems and how they work together to continually maintain homeostasis is incredible.

I'm in neurology and continually seeing how the nervous system functions within each patient I see is a beautiful thing everyday.

Beauty for me is an experience with something that I feel is authentic and in alignment with nature.
