Everyone needs a good distraction now and then. Think of someone whom you dearly love tell us about them... like a character sketch except about a person who you know or knew personally. This should be fun. Here's mine about my mother.

My mother has made many personal sacrifices over the years so that she could better provide for her children. She gave a higher priority to our need for comfort than she did to her need for personal space. When we were younger, we enjoyed spending cold winter nights in her closet-sized room. I fondly recall the stories she read to us on those special nights. I remember how the flickering light of the television gave her soft features an angelic appearance in the dark of her room, and I felt safe falling asleep in the arms of God's most beautiful creature. Those are the nights that I will remember forever, and the nights that I now know existed because that beautiful angel could not afford to heat her entire house. Additionally, she gave up countless hours of sleep in an effort to give us everything that we needed and a few things that we wanted. Before her business became a success, she was hard pressed to provide us with food and shelter. Long after we had gone to bed, countless hours were spent sewing clothes and weaving baskets to sell. These crafts are the reason that we never missed a birthday card or a Christmas present. Finally, my mother sacrificed her time, somehow managing to attend every activity that we participated in. I never went to bat, my sister never danced a step, and my brother never fought a match without her loving face in the front row cheering her heart out. She involved herself in all aspects of our lives, and she loved every minute of it. Fund raisers, concerts, games, and recitals were the joys of her life. It is obvious that my mother has never and will never place anything, including her personal needs, before the needs of her children.

Your turn.

My husband is my hero....he never complains about my problems...he is so sweet to me and understands when I cannot go someplace or do something he really wanted to do...I have depression and social anxiety...but he takes everything in stride...I know it can't always be easy for him to be the strong one...and I love him with all my heart...He is always here for me...Don't know what I would ever do without him....He is truly a loved person!!

I'll write another one. It's not that hard.

My girlfriend is an inspiration to everyone around her. She is the kind of person people want to spend time with because of the way she makes them feel. She has supported me in everything I do. She is patient with me when I'm high and understanding when I'm low. She knows when to talk to me and when to leave me alone. She has helped me to find ways to work college (a long time dream of mine) around work, church, and my family. She put up with me when I was a jerk while I was quitting smoking, and now I feel great and have more money. Even if things don't work out with her in the long run, I am most definately a better person for having known her and wouldn't trade the time we have spent together for anything in the world.
