So I'm going to the doctor tomorrow morning and I'm trying to figure out how to ask my doctor for a drug called Provigil. I truly believe it will change my life for the better. I work weird hours, and my schedule at work changes on a weekly basis. I'm constantly tired, and my sleep schedule is out of wack. like when I'm tired i SHOULD be awake, and when I'm awake i should be tired. I've tried caffeine supplements and drinks, but they make me feel hypoglycemic and unfocused. I've tried sleeping pills but they make me feel tired the next day. and I've tried different natural remedies. nothing worked. how can i ask my doctor for this drug and prove that i need it? i really want it and need it!!!!

Getting Provigil to keep you awake may be very difficult when you are taking a med for sleep. Plus I'm sure if you check the side effects of your meds that some have fatigue as a side effect.

However, I was planning to ask for the same thing but I would be willing to give up Trazodone & Zopiclone (Lunesta) in order to try Provigil. I was hoping that by keeping me alert and awake all day that I would soon settle into a natural cycle of being asleep at night. With your different shifts it might be difficult to convince you doctor of something similar. But you never know until you discuss it with him.

Here's how. Be sure to do the following:

1. Stammer and stutter.
2. Twitch a lot.
3. Tell them "it's medicinal".
4. Dilate your pupils.
5. Tell them it's "just one last time, I swear"
6. Take some food with you, and if they question it, tell them it's "the munchies".
7. Occasionally bring up really deep, yet utterly ridiculous subjects during which you have "epiphanies".

There you go. 7 sure-fire ways to get drugs. lol I could hardly help myself. xD

I would just explain why you think the drug would help you, and if they think it would, they'll probably give it to you, if they're able to. Although this post is probably too late, as I expect you already went. How did it go?

I did just that and i got it thanks!

not really. i sent an e-vsiti to my doctor and explained i believe this will benefit me and i explained how its really safe and what not. i tried it for the first time now. not exactly a miracle drug but definitely helps with the sleepiness, and I'm more focused.

Yep. It definitely works wonders already. I just wanted to see if it worked so i took it at 7 pm last night and I was up till 6 am. I could've stayed up earlier, but i didn't think it'd be a great choice lol

I did however throw up, first time I threw up like that in so long. I believe its due to the provigil drug but not too sure. its common to throw up though on this drug i read

Oh. :| Will you be telling your doctor about that? I would recommend letting them know, just to be on the safe side.
