As I understand it from Native American culture, your spirit animal is the one you are most attracted to, for whatever reason. It may be that the animal has traits you admire, or an animal you might like to be, for whatever reason. I like swans and wolves because they mate for life and I find that an admirable quality in an animal or a human.

But my spirit animal is the blue Mako shark. I've always been fascinated by sharks and the Mako is the second deadliest shark in the ocean. I don't see them as savage because they are just surviving. The qualities I most admire about them is their freedom. The ocean is their kingdom and they can go anywhere they choose. They are swift and beautiful and deadly. They can grow up to twelve feet in length I often wish I could be that perfect, ancient creature and I dream of the freedom of the deep, blue sea.

Not because I'm fascinated by them, someone once told me, it's by a wild animal presenting to you, as well. My top one, happened to be a Moose. Went deer hunting as a preteen/early teen, and a bull moose followed us around. I have my suspicions why.
I've read they represent and embody the feminine spirit, maternal as well.

Good thread.

Tiger. I feel like a tiger trapped in a cage.

My favorites are tigers. I'm attracted to them because they are awesome looking. But my spirit animal might be a butterfly. I have had them land on me several times, and watched one be born out of it's cocoon.

This is funny. I googled "spirit animal quiz" looking for a link I could post. I took five different quizes. Each said I was a different animal!

Left to my own devises, I am closest to my cats. Would that mean cat is my spirit animal? On the other hand I have tons of stuff with wolves on it.

It changes a lot. Right now I am very sick and depressed, so I would say mine is a maggot.

I'd say it was probably a spider, turtle or panther.
Everyone used to call me a cat when younger. But life lately has followed the ways of a turtle, reclusive and hiding behind a shell. Spider is most what I'm like, artistic and independent.

My husband and I both believe ours is a hawk.

Although I do think that hawk has been on a vacation somewhere exotic, and is incommunicado for awhile....

Cats. Definitely cats. I've always loved them, since I was little.
Right now I'm typing with one hand because my other hand is petting the cat.

I have a black teeshirt with a picture on the front. The picture is a close-up of a Bengal tiger. He is sitting on what might be an asteroid or a small moon. There is a large planet in the background & stars off in the distance. I envision the tiger as sitting in contemplation of the universe. And I imagine him to be that to which I aspire. (I have a ways to go yet...)
