Hello...

I guess hearing from any age is fine but I am especially interested in what our older members have to say!

1. What has been your biggest lesson in life so far?
2. What mattered to you when you were younger that doesn't matter now?
3. What matters to you now that didn't matter when you was younger?
4. If you could go back and change anything, would you? If yes, what would you change?
5. What was the most valuable piece of advice you have ever been given?
6. What has mattered most in your life and What has brought you the most meaning to your life so far?
7. What is your biggest regret?
8. And finally, what do you hope to understand as you get older?

If you could answer the best you can and state your age, I would be most grateful!

Thank you in advance for answering any or all of these questions. I am at a crucial point in my life where I am eager to learn and develop.

Those are hard questions. I'll have to think about it and come back. This should be an interesting thread.

Interesting questions. I'm not near 50 yet, but thought I'd answer. I'm 43. (My answers are beside your questions.)

1. What has been your biggest lesson in life so far? Don't allow people to hinder you when it comes to following the dreams that are deep in your heart. Better to try and fail than not to try at all.
2. What mattered to you when you were younger that doesn't matter now? What people think about me. So now I have less inhibitions.
3. What matters to you now that didn't matter when you was younger? My family always mattered in some way, but their value now seems far far greater than before.
4. If you could go back and change anything, would you? If yes, what would you change? Yes, not pursuing my creative ambitions earlier in life.
5. What was the most valuable piece of advice you have ever been given?"Manners maketh a man"
6. What has mattered most in your life and What has brought you the most meaning to your life so far? Family--understanding the past generations and how they've influenced the present.
7. What is your biggest regret? Not pursuing my creative ambitions earlier in life.
8. And finally, what do you hope to understand as you get older? Men

If you could answer the best you can and state your age, I would be most grateful!

1) People who are kind but shy & timid will be used as a doormat.
2) What others think of me. It sill matters but not as much.
3) Leaving my mark on the world - somehow.
4) Yes, I would never have started smoking.
5) Learn something new every day.
6) My current wife.
7) Not being more assertive at life in general.
8) The secrets of the universe.

Hi..wow answer number 1 made me sad..I am sorry this is something you have experienced or witnessed. Whoever the shy and timid person is/was, if they had ppl take advantage of them, it says nothing negative about their character...but hell it says a lot about the people that made them believe this.

It's what happened to me and a few others that I know who were just like me.

I am sorry this happened to you Not everyone will take advantage of a kind person...there are some that would but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be true to what we believe....you did nothing wrong...it says nothing about you but LOADS about them. Please keep your kindness and don't lose faith in people. I hope by now you have ppl around you you can trust...share your kindness safely with them....don't let them horrible people take away something that is so important to who you are.

1. What has been your biggest lesson in life so far?
Let the people who are important to you know. Tomorrow might be too late.

2. What mattered to you when you were younger that doesn't matter now?
Other people's opinion of me.

3. What matters to you now that didn't matter when you was younger?
Can't think of an answer.

4. If you could go back and change anything, would you? If yes, what would you change?
This is/was totally out of my control, but I wish my brother had not been killed. Not sure this is what you meant though.

5. What was the most valuable piece of advice you have ever been given?
Actually two things
a - "trust your staff" that translates to me not having to be in control of everything 24/7
b - "stop being an ahole" There's a long back story, but the short version is that if someone is trying to give you something be kind and accept it.

6. What has mattered most in your life and What has brought you the most meaning to your life so far?
My mom

7. What is your biggest regret?
I prefer to not have regrets in life. There have been some decisions I wish I could go back and change and some things that have happened in my life I would prefer not to have experienced, but all those things went into creating the person I am today. I like the person I am. If those things were changed I would not be who I am.

8. And finally, what do you hope to understand as you get older?
Sorry, I can't think of an answer to this one.

I'm 60
Thanks for this!
