A few years back, I decided to choose glass over plastic to store my meals. i started to do this because of the dangers of heating up foods in plastic. The chemicals from the plastic, i was told, gets into the food, and over time can damage your insides.

I agree, even when a plastic says "microwave safe" I'm still leery.

You know . . . just the past few days I've been considering lessening the amount of plastic I expose myself to. I read that recent research has led to the advice that expectant moms avoid using plastic in the microwave, so that there expected child is less likely to develop asthma. If it's not good for the baby, it's probably not good for any of us.
Getting a set of glassware to accommodate all my "heating up" needs could get expensive. I'ld have to transition gradually. |

I'm straight glass on everything. I prefer it too.

I freeze certain meals in sandwich bags...used to used no-name ones made in bloody hell knows where...got kind of leery and began using the premier freezer bags.
Just bought a set of nice glass tubs to replace the bags once and for all. They still have plastic lids but the food doesn't come into contact with them. Best idea so far. Plastics....uhhh....nah....no more of that unless maybe for a sandwich that's coming out in a few hrs. Even bought the ol' pusscat a glass bowl. |

I also read that using plastic without cooking or reheating can 'possibly' be unhealthy...i.e. water bottles, soda bottles, milk jugs etc. I still use plastic water bottles (even the infusing kind) because I tend to be reckless....but I do get my milk delivered in glass half gallon bottles. There is a service here that does it, and it's more expensive, but I do it because the milk tastes better when it comes in glass.

That is so cool. I didn't know that was an option anywhere in the land anymore.

Indeed there are small local dairies that bottle in glass and even deliver in the old style milk trucks!

She is an artist without doubt disappointed that paradise was not as close in 1969 as she and so many others hoped it was. Her work is now filled with the reality of humanity's failure to achieve the prophetic dream of her song, but never without the hope that that day will yet come. |

Like princess said....out here, in the land of gamble, there is Winder Farms but they also can be found in Utah. Not sure where else....but they deliver milk, eggs cheese and a pretty healthy regular food menu i.e. fresh veggies etc. But it's the milk in glass I love....soothes my memory and my taste buds hehehe
