This week I have accepted a new job that I first submitted my resume for back in July. I've been at my current place of employ for almost 8 years and am at a dead end. My current work is stressful, and requires a lot of hours and I have suffered burn out. Unfortunately, because of the culture where I work, there just doesn't seem like there is a way to fix my burn out and make it a place I want to stay. I could go into all the "wrongs" I feel were done over the last few years, but I've chosen to stay this long and am ready to move on, and would like to leave the negativity behind and start this new job fresh and with the right attitude.

I'm excited with the new opportunity and can't wait to start! Luckily I have some vacation time this next coming week and I plan to use the time to rid my mind of the cobwebs of my old employer. Actually hoping that I can take PTO for as much of my notice as they'll allow (I'm giving 3 weeks notice).

This year has really become a time of change and for putting the old attitude behind and becoming happy again.
Hugs from:

It sounds like a good plan. Enjoy the vacation meanwhile and sending the best of wishes in your new endeavor!

Congratulations! Hopefully the new job will be viewed with enthusiasm, as a new opportunity, as not as a "refuge" from a job you've grown to dislike.

Good luck to you!
