Dell Inspiron 15R i15RM-7538Red 15.6-Inch Laptop (1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-4500U Processor, 8GB DDR3L, 1TB HDD, Windows 8) Fire Red

$800

Or

Inspiron 17.3" HD+ Notebook Computer, AMD Quad-Core A8-5545M 1.7GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Windows 8.1, Indigo Blue

$600

I would be using the laptop for school as I'm going to be taking online classes.

I would go with the Inspiron. It has a bigger display. But I would add though your battery may not last as long. They pretty much have the same specs.

If it is just for school, I'd buy the cheaper. They both would be fine and I don't know that you would be able to tell the difference otherwise and since you don't have to "carry" it around or anything, that the less expensive one is larger and probably heavier won't matter as much but will give you slightly larger screen, etc.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll go with the $600 one. It seems like a really nice computer and that will free up some cash to add a protection plan to it and Microsoft Office.
