I'm not much of a movie watcher so these are quite old.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride - Animation/Comedy/Romance - Summary: Set in a 19th century European village. When a shy groom practices his wedding vows in the inadvertent presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her. The young man is whisked away to the underworld while his real bride, Victoria, waits bereft in the land of the living. Dark humor, hilarious.

A Beautiful Mind - Biography/Drama/Mystery - Summary: After a brilliant but asocial mathematician accepts secret work in cryptography, his life takes a turn to the nightmarish. A story about a mathematician suffering from schizophrenia. Great movie.

K-PAX - Drama/Sci-Fi - Summary: Prot is a patient at a mental hospital who claims to be from a far away planet. His psychiatrist tries to help him, only to begin to doubt his own explanations. It's based on a novel, one of my favorites.

jlove! I too am a big movie buff!!!! My fave pastime.
Of the movies you listed, Zodiac was one of the few I've seen, and I liked it. I'm glad to read your opinion of Hostel, as I had debated about renting it several times, and now I won't.
I just watched KLUTE with Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland. Early 70's film with her playing a prostitute. It got lots of hoopla when it was released. I like it for its look of that time...the fashions particularly, and Jane did a great job.
Another one from the early 70's is the original STEPFORD WIVES. Not the recent remake, which was a waste.
A couple of my favorite recent films is ART SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL...a hoot, and though it's supposed to be a parody of art schools, not too far from the truth!
And my favorite of all this year, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE.
If you've seen these, I'd like to know what you think of them.
I go to IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) and post opinions and responses to many of the films I view. It's a great site for opinions, reviews, and discussion.

I hadn't heard of Art School Confidential. That sounds right up my alley. I now work in the art school where I studied. I'm definitely going to have to see that one! MOVIES

Btw, Little Miss Sunshine was my favourite movie of 2006 too. It shares the top spot on my list with Capote.

Anyone seen, 'The Queen'? Did you like it? I wonder if it reveals her relationship with Dianna? I heard they didn't care for each other, and just wondered. I am so cheap, I usually wait till the movies go for rentals, but if this is a good one I may spend the money.

I like Helen Mirren, but I've never been fascinated with the British royalty, as many seem to be.
I'll probably wait till that one's out on low rent DVD!

Cool thread.

I want to see "Reign Over Me" for sure. Also, "Blades Of Glory" -- looks pretty dumb, actually, but I will check it out.

Yeah, "Little Miss Sunshine" was excellent when I saw it last year. As the closing credits rolled, I said to my friend, "That little Abigal Breslin should be nominated for an Oscar......" (too bad she didn't win.......so talented).

"The Queen", I hear, is excellent. I do also want to see that.

I recently watched "Love Actually" again.....such a great flick. The opening scene was actually filmed via hidden cameras @ Heathrow airport w/ real ppl.........that made me feel really good......

Happy watching,

Oh yeah, I forgot: I recently saw "Music & Lyrics". I wasn't expecting great things, for some reason, but I actually really enjoyed it. Hugh Grant was fantastic. (So was Drew Barrymore, but he was better -- and he's hot, LOL). Yeah, nice love story. Some really funny lines........espec if you like sarcastic humour.

I saw "Premonition" the other day. It was o.k. Rental. Sandra Bullock was gd in it -- I like her work -- but the ending was kinda -- I won't ruin it. Let's just say that if she wasn't in it, it would have been really lousy.

Anyone seen "Blood Diamond"? Wanna see that.....

I love movies too....

I watched Eragon last night...It was awesome..its a story about a dragon and his rider...very good special effects.

This afternoon on Sci Fi I watched Monster Man (I think) It was about this demon chasing these guys and girl in their car...I didn't get to finish it cuz my dad came to pick me up...I also watched part of Freddy Vs. Jason...that was stupid I thought.

I watched Dungeons and Dragons a couple of weeks ago..it was ok not what I expected but good anyway

I watched Aladdin this morning while I was trying to go back to sleep.

I want to see Bridge to Terabitha but I think it will be gone from the theater b4 I get to see it. I will have to wait for DVD then.

I also saw the new James Bond a couple of weeks ago. Very good..but then again I just love Bond James Bond. The only thing I had was the new Bond isn't didn't have a very well defined six-pack lol..I know petty petty but when I think of Bond I think of the well defined six-pack.
