I thought I was recovering from this dang respiratory thing. I actually was starting to feel better the beginning of the week. It's come back with different symptoms. hmmmm, maybe this is a different bug. Anyway I'm exhausted. I slept through THREE alarms this morning. my throat is raw and breathing is no dang fun.

Puh-leeze don't fuss at me to go to the doctor. I know from past experience with this sort of crap what I need to do for myself. I also know it's a virus so there's not a dang thing the doc can do except tell me to do what I already know to do. Hugs, plus tea and sympathy would be appreciated though.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad and I will happily make you some tea. I was raised to believe that if you felt bad tea would help you feel better so I drink it whenever I am sick! What would you like? Chamomile, Peppermint, Jasmine? I will sweeten it with honey to help your throat too!

(((LizardLady))) I'm so sorry you've been sick for so long. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not going to fuss at you to go to the doctor, but something to think about - I had something similar years ago. It started as a cold, then that got better, but I got laryngitis, then that got better, but I got an awful, deep cough that wouldn't go away. When I finally went to the doctor, it turned out I had walking pneumonia! Thankfully, there was medication that quickly wiped it out. But I really thought it was just a cold all along (and it probably was, in the beginning). So, please just take care of yourself and if things don't get better, consider giving the doc a ring I hope that's non-fussy enough!

And - when my throat is bothering me, I heat up water as if I were going to make tea, then melt a big spoonful of honey in it, then squeeze some lemon in to it! It's delicious (though you might need to play with the quantities to find out what suits you) and always seems to make my throat feel better.

Get well soon, and hopefully you can get some rest so your body can fix itself up!
Thanks for this!

I have the same sort of thing lizardlady. About a month ago I had the respiratory thing. Now I have a head cold. I'm breathing through my mouth. Here's hoping we both begin to feel better soon!

LOL.....I never go to the MD......why bother when there is nothing they can give me to make it better......my only problem is that my respiratory problems have been known to end up in bronchitis & pneumonia.....but I only go to the MD when I feel like I'm dying.....otherwise....then end up making me sicker with other side effect problems when they try to give me meds that I end up being allergic to.

Lizardlady Those things sometime really linger. I can understand your getting tired of it. I don't have much patience with being sick myself.

Take care of yourself lazardlady Seems like I had a cold the entire winter last year... and could not get rid of it. Nothing worse than hacking and coughing. It does wear you out.

Thanks everyone. This is now obviously a head cold runny eyes and nose, sneezing and no temp. I suspect that a caught something new from one of the kids I work with. One was in my office sneezing and coughing - WITHOUT COVERING HIS MOUTH!!!!! this week. Blessedly the cough seems to have gone away for the most part. Again, no point in going to the doc for a cold. He'll tell me to rest and use over the counter meds to treat the symptoms. I can do that myself without wasting time and money on a doc.

guilloche, I understand your concern about bronchitis. I have a history of it. I promise if I think I have it I'll go to a doc.
