So I was having a conversation with a friend tonight (after I got out of my terribly grumpy mood with some exercise).

Burlesque is kinda being sexy and in if you mix it up with a bit of the naughty secretary.

I just bought a top yesterday that has corset hooks up the back and is very cute. So today I decided I needed a "real" one.

They work well with a plain kneelength black pencil skirt and cute round toe heels.

So this is similar to what I got, but mine is in black:

I am quite excited ... I love how sexy is coming back to clothes ... I feel like clothes have not liked my body shape for a couple of seasons!

Btw this is for going out partying - not office wear!

Anyone else made a purchase that excites them lately?

I just bought a real corset!!!!!!!

Actually, for our ball last year I wore a black and silver frothy skirt (about a billion haphazard layers) and a corset top which I promptly fell out of as soon as we got to the venue. Zac my mate who was my date had to lace me back up in the bathroom. It was SO embarrassing, although it was lucky it was just him.

But it was great fun going out afterwards (the theme was Oscars, so I could get away with it)>

I think it's quite beautiful. I know at my size I couldn't wear something like that (I'm a size 22) but would really love to wear something that beautiful.

Go you!

I actually think something like that can be flattering on a lot of different sizes, especially under a well cut jacket as an evening top.

It's amazing how much they can pull ya in too!!!!!!!!!

How interesting, dsf I just bought a real corset!!!!!!!

I've been thinking about buying a corset for over a year now, but the price has put me off, especially since I don't know if I'd like it if I bought one!

When you say it's a 'real' corset, do you mean it's boned with a material other than plastic? How much will you reduce your waist with it? How does it feel to wear it? Is it comfortable, constricting, etc?

Hehe .. I don't even know what it's boned with ... I mean real in that it has 8 bonings and it laces properly at the back - maybe I mean in the traditional style?

I don't really need to pull myself in heaps at the waist although you have to pull them in pretty tightly so they sit right.

Do you guys have E-Bay or Trade-Me or something over there? That's where I went for mine on a friend's recc - lol. If I like it I may get one made (there is a corset manufacturer here - http://www.bastetcreations.co.nz/modernclassics.htm)

I am not sure if she could breathe in it, didn't they all used to faint from pulling it too tight?
