If you received enough money to never need to work again, what would you spend your time doing?

I'd like to set up a not for profit organisation helping socio-economically disadvantaged students gain skills that they need to thrive in a 1st World Country.

Writing. I would start by developing a portfolio of novellas and then start pimping myself out for freelance writing jobs and trying to get a full novel published.

I'd get more serious about my harp playing and spend a lot of time practicing, I'd knit and try and turn that into a high end custom business, and I'd volunteer.

I'd do some travelling, but also find something to keep me active. Nothing drives you more insane than having nothing to do for years on end.

I would donate to no kill animal shelters and places that rescue animals from factory farms.

Yeah, pretty much what some have said above I'd be in the voluntary sector.

I'd be living in a house, fostering animals, taking university classes, surfing on a better more powerful computer and protesting the political process.

I'd love to say that I'd volunteer, write a book, and travel, but in reality, I'd probably just watch TV all the time because sometimes my depression makes it hard for me to get out of the house or get anything done.

I guess it would depend how much money I would have. If it was just enough to cover every day expenses I'd offer counseling to low income folks for free. Would volunteer with some local groups. I already plan to do this when I retire. I'd get myself a broke to death (that's a horsey term for a very quiet horse) so I could ride every day. I'll admit that for the first month or so I'd probably lay around the house like a slug. I'm exhausted from working.
If I had enough money I'd travel. I want to go back to Ireland. Would also want to travel the US. |

Pay everything off and travel. I'd probably have two houses. One in the mountains and another at the beach.

I'm basically in this situation already. I'm only on the pension but I have more money than I need, and I'm evaluating what to do next, whether it should be work, volunteering or study or a combination of all of these.
