I love Facebook. It is a daily way to keep in touch with my widespread family and friends. I've always been pretty careful with my security setting, etc., but even with that, I noticed Facebook had changed some things that I didn't like.

I didn't like that I was seeing every post my friends merely liked or commented on, even if they didn't share that particular link. I didn't really want to see everything they were looking at. I just wanted to see what they specifically chose to share with me.

I didn't like all the news trend tickers. Often those new events were triggering for me or just plain of no interest. I just wanted my FB to be about me and my friends and family. I'll watch my news on TV when I want to look at it.

I didn't like all the FB recommends . . . yadda yadda stuff and all of the advertisements . . .

I found a really good solution. Now, this doesn't work on phones or tablets, but it does work on computers. There is an extension called FaceBook Purity that allows you to customize what you see and don't see on Facebook. It has made my Facebook experience much more enjoyable again. I keep adjusting it as I figure out what I like and don't like. It's very easy to use.

So, here's a link to it if you are wanting to better customize your FB experience on your computer:

F.B. Purity - Clean up and Customize Facebook

Hope it might be of benefit to someone.

What that web site says it does, if you choose to download their software, is alter the browser you are using with your computer with an extension. Not sure how that works for me so will do a google and see how other people's experiences before using.

That's fine. That's why I addressed this to people who do like to use FB.
