What was your very first job...paid job?

Remember those little telephone both like ticket booths at the fairgrounds? Yeah that was me some 40 years ago...my first job ever.

They guy that interviewed me asked me what was 15 less 75.... I said, your kidding me right? Nope. When I said, 60 I got the job. Easiest job interview ever!

Working as a cashier in a self serve gas station. Great job, I could study when it was slow.

I worked for about a month as a temp in a factory. On your feet sometimes over 12 hours a day, was rough. That's the only job I've ever had, I was about 19 and I'm 21 now, I was trying to make extra money for the holidays. I'm on disability now though

My first paid job was busing tables at a restaurant just down the road from where I grew up. I also washed dishes there as well, the only good thing about the job was I met a Detroit Tiger legend Jim Northrup. He was with the Tigers when they won the World Series in 1968. I over heard him talking about shagging fly balls with Micky Mantel, so I asked him about it. He gave me an autographed picture.

Are we talking under the table or legit? Because my answers are very different.

My very first paid job was under the table and I was labeled as an assistant teacher at a daycare, at 15 and I was given real responsibilities but more than minimum wage...pretty much because it was where I had gone to daycare, where my sister had gone to daycare, and where my other sister was currently in daycare. The woman who ran it always saw me playing with the kids when we were picking up my sister and she asked if I wanted a job. It was supposed to be more than just a summer job, but then the school district changed starting times and I wouldn't be able to get there with enough time to make it worth it. Now that I know more, I know how incredibly illegal that was, but oh well. It was the best job I've ever had (and I've had about a dozen).

My first "real" job, you know, on the books and all was as a sales associate at PacSun. I loved that job too. It was extremely laid back, I had a great manager and fun coworkers. But it only lasted the summer because when school came, I could only work so many hours since I was a minor, and I had also gotten a job at Best Buy since PacSun didn't give me a lot of hours...and I kept the job at Best Buy because I got paid a lot more! Probably about a dollar an hour more...
Thanks for this!

First paid job was at age 15. I don't think I had a title, but I was basically working at a doctor's office that summer helping with filing and "other duties as assigned"

My first over the table job was as a cashier at a local grocery store. What person in this larger geographical region hasn't worked there?

I was baby sitting since the age of 12, however.

Soon after that, a month before college was as an inventory specialist for quality control at a local big name sneaker company.

My first job was as a stablehand at 12 - mucking out paddocks, riding, feeding, raking arenas. Hard physical work outdoors, split shifts morning and night with us eating horse feed and carrots for lunch as what was on offer was inedible. But that wasnt paid... that was so I could keep my pony. Its still worth more than money to me.

My first paid job was waitressing. Never got bored and always had work.

One semster in college I interned with a small geotechnical firm doing things like collecting soil samples and compression testing concrete samples. A large amount of it was outside, which was nice even when summer started rolling around.

I worked at a fast-food "restaurant". Basically, angry fat women yell at you about how everything is too expensive whilst their husbands quietly apologize. Every single day. If you enjoy idiots treating you as if you've the mental capacity of a walnut, fast-food is the industry for you!
I took solace in the knowledge that each fry brought them one step closer to diabetes.
