Bad omens is a signs/events/things happening that symbolize something bad is about to come in the future.
Do you believe in bad omens? If you don't mind, can you share your story experience of one? Like an event/sign that is happening that telling something bad is about to come.. Like a sign telling you ahead that in the future something bad might/going to happen. In my Chinese culture, we tends to be superstitious, believe in omen stuff.. We believe in bad omen, where signs or things that happening is trying to tell us that something bad in the future will come. Have you see bad omen happened to someone? If it okay, can you share your personal story? Or a story that you saw it happened to a friend or someone you know? Really appreciated your help share your story. Thank you Last edited by jasmine30; Sep 22, 2015 at 10:47 AM. |

I asked because there something my husband want to do. It seem like he thought about this for a long time, and it something he really want to do.. BUT I feel that it a bad omen, like omen trying to tell me that something bad might happen to him in the future; like he might get into an accident on the freeway, deceased and forever leave me.
Maybe I'm just over-worrying, over-thinking, and over-analyzing this whole thing. But in my culture we do believe in sigsn of bad omen stuff, so I'm kindda scare. |

I wasn't brought up to believe that fate or the universe sends signs to tell us that something bad is going to happen in the future.
I think there's something that I might call a "psychological omen" that happens sometimes when a person we know well says or does something that leads us to believe that they are going to do something ill-advised in the future. I think that this is a subconscious connection we make between their current speech and behavior and what we are afraid they may do in the future. Sometimes our feelings like this turn out to be valid. Sometimes we are wrong. I don't know how common it is to think this way. Maybe I do it because I read a lot of novels, and that form of fiction often has omens and foreshadowing written into it. I can't think of an example from my own life to explain this. I'm sorry that you are having a time of worry. |

I don't have any experiences that I can think of to share, but I definitely believe in omens and karma and fate and tarot and juju, and even the supernatural like ghosts.

Well I've never had an omen, but Amanda Ramirez (the Colombian woman who said that has had contact with extraterrestrials for several years) said they showed her images of 9/11 several years before it happened. She had other omens too.

Maybe I'm just over-worrying, over-thinking, and over-analyzing; but here is the situation:
My husband Tanker truck driver, he hauls gasoline and fuel liquids. He work long hours; come home at night, and leave to work early in the morning before sunrise. Driving tanker trucks could be stressful, because there more danger/risk and responsibility. The job need alot of mental stability, and balance driving skills especially when there sloshing liquid movement. I worried about his safety when he on the road, especially knowing his truck hauls flammable/explosive liquid. He's a very balance and smooth driver. But I still worried like when there heavy raining days, slippery roads. When there tight deadlines delivered fuel on time and traffic ahead, it can be mentally stressful. Hauling sloshing liquid is harder when stopping, turning around curves, and easier to roll over too. If I have a choice, I don't want to see my husband on the road hauling 10,000 gallons of highly flammable gasoline/fuel, delivered 5-6 loads per day.. But he gotta do what he gotta do for survival. And his a wife, I just have to be supportive of his job choice, and try not give him any stress. I want him to have full concentration while he at work, and not have to worry about things at home. I know he wants a baby to complete our little family, so I promise him that I will get off my BCP and we TTC next year. I'm even not pregnant yet, and sometimes he kiss my stomach. He said when I'm pregnant, he wants to kiss my stomach Everyday for 9 Months until the baby born. ugh.. already tell he will spoil the baby rotten, still in stomach not even born yet and already have daddy kisses everyday. Here come the part that I worried about bad omen, is trying to tell me that something bad might happen to him in the future; like an accident on the freeway, he died and forever leave me. He said when I'm pregnant; he wants me to sit down with him when my stomach get big so he can camcorder videotape us--he wants to kiss my stomach, say Hi and talk to the unborn baby. He want to say 'Daddy loves you' to the baby. You know like he wants to videotape him kiss my big stomach, and he say some words to the unborn baby. So when the baby old enough can watch it and see him, like daddy welcome the unborn baby.. It seem like he thought about this for a long time, and it something he Really Really want to do. BUT I'm kindda scare because it like a bad omen. He drive a tanker of 10,000 gallons of flammable explosive gasoline/ fuel liquids, doing 5-6 loads a day. There accidents happened on the freeway everyday; the possibility is out there, and his job nature is more worrisome too.. I feel that he film himself ahead of time; so if anything unfortunate happen to him, the baby can see him on the video. Maybe I'm just over-thinking this, but in my Chinese culture it like bad omen. I mean he alive and healthy, but why want to videotape himself kiss my stomach and talk to the unborn baby? I'm worried like it bad omen telling me ahead that he might died, maybe that why it lead him to have the strong desire to do this--so when the baby old enough can watch their daddy on video; eventhough he forever no longer physically here with us anymore. Is this like bad omen telling me something? Or I'm over-analyze and over-thinking this? I don't know why, but I'm kindda scare. Maybe it just my Chinese culture, believe in superstitious and bad omen stuff. If you were me, would you let him do it? Seem like he been thinking about this for a while, it something he really really want to do; but I'm not sure if it a good idea.. Last edited by jasmine30; Sep 23, 2015 at 11:49 AM. |

I don't get bad omens, but I do seem to get what I call "Bad Juju". It's a really strong, uneasy feeling that something isn't right. That weird feeling will usually predate something going wrong by about 3 days.
For example: Our dryer broke down so we needed a new one. Whenever my wife would bring up getting another one, I would get a really bad feeling. My Bad Juju. Well, we bought it yesterday and while installing it ... Bad Juju confirmed ... we found that the water pipe leading to our washing machine is rotted and leacking. I don't even remotely know what it's all about. Seems like my brain knows something's up, but I can't put it all together. So I get really uneasy until whatever the problem is (like a rotting water pipe or something) rears its ugly head.

Indeed. Sort of. I experience something which I refer to as an "omen" because, really, I don't know what else to call it. To put it simply, I have an innate ability to sense when I will never see a person again. The atmosphere changes-I wish I could describe it better. I used to be quite saddened when it happened because, as I was sitting there enjoying their company, I could feel how I would miss them in the near future. And I couldn't very well tell them I'd miss them because that would be odd. "I'm not sure why, but we will never see each other after this moment. Something will either happen to you or me and will most likely be mundane like a schedule change. Boy, will I miss you."
It's happened so often I'm not really bothered by it anymore though. If anything, it's taught me to enjoy the time we've spent together. Bad omens aren't really all that "bad" if you think about it. They serve to warn us of an impending misfortune so that we may prevent it or, if that be impossible, prepare so that its impact is less detrimental. |

I am not religious - I don't believe in a higher power or fate.
Yet I experience 'deja vu' constantly. I have conversations or experience events that I'm sure I either already did or dreamt happened. I even know what a person will say before they say it in such circumstances. I will feel I have been to a place even though I never have and intuitively know my way around and what I will find on each street. I will think about something totally bizaar and the next day it is on tv or comes up. Now, as for omens? I do believe in them. I get sickening feelings of dread before something bad has happened. There have been times I have refused to answer my phone ring only to find out later something happened. I suppose you could call me supersticious too, which is kind of related. If something bad happens I won't wear that oufit/socks/underwear again. If I do, and something bad happens again, I throw the stuff out. I am a creature of routine worrying about something going wrong if I break my routine. Invariably it in fact does. |

I know what people will say as well. I have conversations in my head long before I have it in person. I can predict what a person will do-it isn't really even a prediction anymore. It's sort of just something that is going to happen. It's like watching an incredibly cliche movie. Of course the protagonist takes the eye-candy to the big dance. I do hope you'll forgive me for going on, but I don't get to talk about these things. Despite these instances being, in my belief, quite common, most will assume you are either delusional or lying. Or both. |
