Hi everyone,

I've been out of work since summer 2005, when I lost my job in a corporate restructuring. And since then, the combination of a lousy economy plus long periods when I couldn't job search due to MI or addiction.

I've been job hunting actively since August when I did a job search workshop for people with disabilities, that really helped me with my resume, and confidence. And yesterday I was offered a job.

It's only part time - 20 hours a week, but I think it will be much easier for me to start out part time, instead of jumping into a full time job right away. And it pays well enough that I'll be able to live on it, if I'm really careful.

It's even in my field - accounting- and the company uses a whole bunch of software packages that I don't know, and they've said they're willing to train me on them, which will also help make me more marketable in the future.

I'm very relieved and excited.

Congrats, that's a huge step to have got yourself back into employment...

I'm in a similar sort of situation myself. I haven't worked for the past 3 and a half years ... even then, I haven't ever had a full time job since I graduated Uni, so I've yet to make that big step out into the world in many ways.

I've currently just started looking for jobs & hopefully will be getting one within the next few months.

Top effort. It is good that you can go back in a part time capacity. Hope this is a sign of better things to come.
