I have minor agoraphobia but have managed to travel a few times by myself and it was always a huge accomplishment. I really want a break from life's stresses and to go somewhere sunny for a few days. Somewhere cheap and that requires very little effort for someone with my anxiety issues(such as not a lot of points to get to place to place and being very safe). It's been quite a awhile since I tried traveling alone and my anxieties have been worse since then but i am not sure i can get anyone to come with me and just really want to try anyways and feel if i plan it properly I can pull it off. Some place that just has everything right there so i don't have much to figure out or far to go once at destination. I just want to stay in a nice hotel bed,eat good food, and walk outside and be at a beach or pool and easy to just come back in again.

I would recommend Key West, FL, but you have to be creative to make it cheap.

Your bio says you live in Chicago? During the winter you will have to travel a distance to fill your requirements of sunny. Better chance of finding those requirements cheaper in a warmer time of year.
I would choose a rustic cabin on a lake personally...I love country & wilderness even if I have to cook for myself. Lake gives you a quiet calm beach which I like also. I traveled to Cabo San Lucas for a long weekend with a group from work years ago. Warm, nice beach on the sea of Cortez side but the waves on the pacific side were large, rough, & dangerous. The sand flees were nasty also....miserable if not in the water snorkeling. I personally prefer pool side relaxation if not enjoying a rural lake experience
