I was sitting here thinking this would be a good thread. It's not really a New Year's resolutions thing. What do you hope to change or accomplish in the new year. Here are a few of mine. I'll add more later on.

1. Always will be to have a longtime relationship.

2. Possibly look for a new job ( definitely time for a change there).

3. Learn to play the keyboard, ( I always wanted to do that).

4. Hopefully, travel to someplace that I've never been.

5. I guess, too just try new things.

Deborah

1. Find a job that I enjoy and that matches my capabilities.
2. Take the financial steps to starting my own business. (tax refund monies)
3. Walk more, eat better.
4. Be honest with family especially, even if it's hard for them to accept. (people pleasing)
5. Yes, try some new things...day trips, learn to blog, work on my creative writing.
Thanks for this!

Hey Deborah I love this idea. It takes me so much longer to get things done than regular people. It took me 10 years to get my full drivers license after it expiring once. I get bummed out when it comes to resolutions so I try and reflect on how my year went rather than making a resolution I probably couldn't stick with.

Acouple of the things I've always tried to do that are somewhat all linked to one another.
1: Exercise
2: Finding a hobby suitable for my daughters and myself ie swimming
3. Get outside more
4. Quit smoking cigarettes
5. Not let the emotions of others negatively effect me.

I have well more than 5 but even if I can accomplish SOMETHING then I am okay with that. Slow and steady
Thanks for this!

1. Retake my studies and don't give up again.
2. Start a long term relationship
3. Travel with a friend next month.
4. Become an early riser.
5. Use my bike regularly.

Great thread!

2. Stay sober, necessary for No 1.
3. Continue to walk every morning, even when it is cold.

1. Find a job or study that adds to me as a person
2. Lose 20 kg (I am already counting calories and making sure I am eating fewer calories than I use)
3. Do stuff. I don't want to get into routines anymore. Today and yesterday I went to a Chinese food shop to eat instead of my usual snackholes, and I purchased some fish oil. It's a start, sort of.
Thanks for this!

No changes, i dont believe in making resulotions and I take it a day at a time. 2015 was great, one three day inpatient at a crisis center, no hospitalizations and no cancer. 2016 will be grand, i am positive, that much i know

I like this thread. I don't usually make New Year's Resolutions but I like the idea of looking forward to the next year with goals in mind. I hope to accomplish the following:

-Pay off a student loan, which will be a huge relief on our finances

-Stop rolling out of bed at the last possible minute and spend some time each morning
making myself look and feel presentable even if I have nowhere important to go (and
hopefully thus improve my mood and my outlook on life)

-Try to continue my weight loss in a more health oriented way (such as adding daily light
exercise to my life again if I'm able, and eating healthfully and regularly)

-Work on improving my marriage and making it better than it was in 2015.
Thanks for this!

Deb, play the keys! They're a lot of fun, some cool, fun bands to emulate like The Cars or Genesis. Check them out on Youtube and play by ear. A few fun starter songs might be Misfit Kid, Gimme Some Slack, or Touch and Go by The Cars. Nice pace, not too tough. Greg Hawkes is a quirky genius of sorts.

For me, 2016 will be a great year. I just received an official diagnosis of BP II and I know my direction. Positive mojo.

I never make resolutions. My plans for the year are:

- apply for small business assistance
- move
- pay my student loan

Ah things I've already started to get farther along accomplishing. This year I dedicated most of my time from August - thanksgiving caring for 3 rescued starved stallions we were finally able to get to the horse rescue facility after the owner finally legally gave them up....before that I was recovering from major oral surgery.....so this year:

I talked to a man the other day who put me in touch with someone who digs post holes for the 108 huge massive fence posts I bought last January. Another step toward working on my farm....& getting my horse here from California & onto my own farm....my life long dream.

Getting my horse here is another expensive goal....2100 miles away, transportation cost starts at $1500.

I will also be helping to place one of our stallions into a home as he has chronic leg problems along with cribbing. He can only be a companion horse....something I could use if I had my horse here already.....our women's horse group is also getting involved with getting laws passed to protect our equines from abuse. Ky the horse capital of the world has no laws protecting the horses from abuse....so that as a group is one of our goals to work on.

Getting my divorce finalized...after leaving him 8 years ago. He has no desire to make a marriage work but has no desire to get a divorce....said once that a divorce would make him look like a failure....so what did my leaving him & never coming back make him look like everything comes down to my paying for everything because he is so financially irresponsible....will be glad to get that finalized but takes more money & I save up cash for EVERYTHING I do.

I like Blue bird's goal of reading the Bible through....along with more serious Bible studies that focus on God's word. I'm just trying to catch up on books I bought to read. It's hard to have a specific goal as I'm a slow reader.

One other goal I have this year is to give more time to my crafts. I bought some canvases to paint on & want to get back into beading & do the knitting I have beautiful yarn for. It all takes time.

Forgot also...enjoying my wonderful ballroom dancing lessons & want to do more of the extra activities many go to from my class....it has become like a family also.

I have so many activities I'm involved with & each group is like family to me....I need to balance & still be able to enjoy it all

Working on fixing up my house which is a chore....but bit at a time I'm getting to the things I bought to do. It's not easy being the only one living here with no money to hire things done...DIY is my life but I enjoy it.

Above all this..making sure I don't get so wrapped up in me that I don't take time to spend with the most valued friends I've ever had in my life. I truly love my life after all those years of struggling....there is life after 54....& it's better than I ever imagined it could be

My wishes and goals are..

To get my physical health under better control before we move, once we move to build a good medical team like the one I currently have.

To get the house ready and packed for the big move. I've got four months to go through 15 years of stuff.

Get my driver's license now that I've been seizure free for 9 months.

Volunteer once we are settled in our new state.

Continue with my writing and try to get it done by 2017.

Eat healthier and exercise as my health allows.

My bit of stuff asked me about this, I wasn't sure so I went with: I want to move out of here and settle in to my new home. I want to lose more weight and get closer to my target physique. I want to take a leap of faith with said woman and focus on being happy!

Well I answered this one relatively quickly ten days ago. I do believe though, one thing I do pray that I don't see the inside of a hospital room, unless it is to get some kind of tests done.

Biggest thing this year: I want to land a job that actually suits my interests, like animation/computer graphics, and then MOVE THE HELL OUT of my mom's house for good, into my own apartment, living on my own for the first time. It's about damn time.

Then I hope I can find great friends who also share similar interests and personalities with me so that I can have a social life.

1. Have a more simple diet. More fruits/vegetables.
2. Become fully patient, calm, and content.
3. Read/study more.
4. Exercise more.

I am working on all of these things, so that's good.
