Hello-
Does anyone here know of 5k or other fundraisers that support mental health and/or help research in mental illness? I function pretty well but some people in my family are really struggling right now and I feel a bit helpless. My young adult nephew was just hospitalized with psychosis and hearing voices. While we knew that this could happen to any of us or our children due to family genetics, he is the first with this. (we have lots of depression, anxiety, bipolar, adhd but this is new) I'd love to feel like I'm helping the greater cause in some way and find it upsetting that there is so little support for mental illness. Do you know of a 5k or any charity group that raises money? Last edited by Lyndie; Jan 20, 2016 at 03:28 PM. |

NAMI ~ National Association on Mental Illness holds 5k run/walk annually in my area. They are, obviously, present throughout the States for a variety of mental illnesses. You may want to try looking them up, to see if they're a group that you'd like to support.

Thanks- I'll check into it for my area. NAMI was the only thing I did find for other areas.
