I am quitting smoking, and I do most of my smoking on my 15 and 35 minute breaks at work. I like to spend 15 minutes before work smoking, then on my 35 eat and smoke, and then on my two 15's smoke. Now that's all about to change because I am on my last pack of cigarettes...and now I don't know what to do with myself during that time. Any suggestions?

Deep Breathing Exercises!

It will be very relaxing and a reminder of how much healthier your lungs are gonna be!

I wish you the best in your endeavor to be smoke free!

Anywhere you can walk for that time? Walking and keeping active, and sucking sugar free sweets really helped me.

You can:

1. Write.
2. Read part of a book.
3. Catch up on a YouTube video.
4. Catch up with the news.
5. Study something new.
6. Check in here.

Basically there's a ton of stuff. The cigarette addiction is telling you there's nothing to do for 15 minutes.

Congratulations on deciding to quit a damaging and expensive addiction

Do something with your hands, to keep your fingers occupied, while chewing gum. Distractions on your phone are ideal these days.

Good luck!

Dave.

Good for you. Giving up smoking is not easy. I quit by using my GameBoy during down time. I got pretty good at Mario Brothers. What can I do for 15 minutes?

The game boy sounds good. I need to find a new charger for it as I lost mine and I enjoy playing pokemon.

A walk sounds nice too if weather permits.

Suck on hard candy.
Keep your fingers and mind occupied with phone or crocheting.
Plan what you will do with all the money you are saving!

Today I was able to go to a local "old school" game shop and they had a charger for my gameboy! I wouldn't have been able to find it if it wasn't for a Game Stop employee who recommended that place.
