wouldn't ya know it...like mommy like doggie....
my poor pup, Cleo, is at my feet under the desk hiding it's her absolute least favorite day of the year...the 4th of July the "boom booms" have already started in the neighborhood and she is beside herself with worry! guess we're not the only ones with issues! btw - does anyone have a solution? i've heard baby her to let her know she's loved and comforted and i've heard treat her as if nothing's happening so you don't make her think there really is something to be afraid of???? geez....just like the people world....no easy answers! __________________ I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies but not the madness of people. ~ Isaac Newton |

Hmmm..poor puppy
How about playing some soothing music for Cleo? The calmer you act around the noise, and just give her some pats of affection so she knows you care, should help her out. I hope she is feeling better soon! |

The best thing for dogs who are afraid of the fireworks I have found is a properly sized crate with a blanket over top. They need a safe place of there own where they can go while scared.
I have never had a dog that is afraid of them other than a few fosters. The crate always has worked the best for them. Its best not to baby the dog because it will confuse them. You can hold the dog if it wants to be held, but its best to act like nothing is wrong. __________________ |
