Not long ago I just lost my 7 years pen pal, i think his fb was hacked. His email address is no longer available either I'm just wondering should i find another pen pal from some penpal websites? I know there have been a lot of scary things happening when you make friends online, or maybe i'm just somewhat too naive.

I want to have a pen pal simply because i want to make friends and learn about other countries, cultures and explore my knowledge. I'm fully aware for the fact that these days people use pen pals websites to find relationships, and I don't want to give an impression to anyone whoever find my pen pal username thinking i'm some kind of a .... if you know what i mean. I'm more scared for the possibility that my friends would actually find my pen pal account.

What do you think you would do if you were me? Would you still try to find a new pen pal or would you drop that idea?

I would find another closed group on fb and post friendship there. those are closed and very safe. I know given enough inspiration you will find the right site and person to email to! And the best of luck! tc
Thanks for this!

I think there wouldn't be any harm in doing so, just as long as you find the right person. I personally wouldn't drop the idea if I were you, if all you wanted was to make friends, learn, etc. It just has to be someone trustworthy though, as I have met some people that... you know. Did certain things. Just gonna be a little observant about the people you do end up meeting.

Also, don't be afraid to PM me if you need someone to talk to in that regard. Always open to chat.
