I thought about what I wanted to do today. I thought about going on a drive to the beach, but sometimes with traffic it's more stressful than beneficial and I sit in the car worrying about things that aren't important, not to mention it wastes gas. I had to go to Kaiser to refill my meds which was awful. I am signed up to have my meds mailed to me so I don't have to endure the hellish lines of Kaiser Bicentennial, but every time I need it refill it's too early to have it mailed to me, so after looking at the long, long lines of Kaiser Bicentennial which would have been a 2 hour wait, I went to a different Kaiser and I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I was very frustrated because I don't understand why I would have to wait in line for two hours for meds that should be mailed to me in the first place. I am going to have a talk with my pdoc, but her assistant told me there is a number I can call if I am running low and I can get it within 7 days, but I would have to plan it out and be on top of how much meds I have and need. But I after I got my meds came home relieved.

I started out sitting in the backyard in my smoking area which I create myself, (a giant planter full of succulents I planted myself, a lawn chair, and a purple beach umbrella) listening to Skrillex, then an hour goes by and I was enjoying my music and my time alone so much that I decided to have a backyard picnic. I grabbed two giant fluffy square pillows that cousin Emily gave to me and the picnic basket Mamma gave me and stuffed it with my laptop, my journals, writing materials, and then made a chicken and swiss sandwich, grabbed some chips, banana chips, potato chips, craisins, gatorade, papa's pudding, and made myself some horchata. I switched to country music and I have just finished my sandwich and papa's pudding. The horchata is delicious. It's made from an instant powder and I poured a ton of it (I always use 2-4x more than directed plus milk) and ice and shook it up in that container Mamma bought me.

I intend to spend the rest of the day out here and just relax and do absolutely nothing! I've certainly earned it.

A Backyard Picnic! (And Homework)

My Homework (I didn't want to create a second thread for this)

Last night I wanted to work on my folding for my housekeeping position. So I took all the towels, linens, and blankets out of our closet and I spent time folding, folding, folding!

I made everything look nice and neat how it should be at the Hampton. I made sure all the pillowcases and sheets were wrinkle-free and precise and the towels were flat and even. I feel like I have improved from doing the practice.

Mom and Dad were absolutely stunned when they saw it. Dad said, "I've never seen this closet look this neat and organized before!" and Mom said, "You have a lot of heart."

But my mom said, "On your days off I don't want you to do work. You can work on your flower in your down time, and once you get settled in to your job we can talk about cleaning the house, but your days off are meant for you to relax."

It was hard work, but it really helped me get better at my job!

Wow, that's fancy towel folding. Glad you are enjoying your job & wanting to practice at home to improve what you have learned on the job.

Looks like your parents are reaping some benefit from your job also.

That is a quality pic-a-nick basket. Yogi Bear would approve.

It was my grandma's of the era. (70's? 80's?) Not sure where she got it, but I absolutely adore it.

I have an obsession with baskets. This is one of my prized baskets.

Nice! That's fantastic that you have your grandmother's basket!!

Great way to spend the day. And I think you mother is wonderful - insisting that you rest on your days off! Have to say that the folding is quite impressive!
Thanks for this!
