Honestly...the weirdest thing...my gray Maine Coon cat, who is usually very skittish, "stomps" into the bathroom each time I have to "go!" He insists on his commode pettings!
Anyone else have a cat that does this!???

LOL, I can never use the loo without an audience. Normally I get a cat going around my ankle and a dog wanting petting.

My dog can open doors so he just lets himself and the cat in. If I lock the door he will sit outside it and whine. He can't stand to be left even for a second. They don't do it to my husband though. Just me.

Patty, when I lived in NM my main bathroom was down the hall from the LR. Every time that I went in there, my four dogs walked down the hall and looked in......One after another and then they turned around and came back up the hall.....When I flushed, they went about their business.

I made a body of photographs of them doing that. Their heads, their middles, their tail ends...... Cat comes for "commode pettings!"

I made the mistake of choosing the bathroom as the location to store my kitty's brush, and he LOVES to be brushed. So when I am doing my business he walks right up to me and makes his request for a brushing. I don't recall the last time I was able to go in peace.

Mine does this too. The only time this bothered me was when my cat would want to sit on my lap...just not a comfortable postion at that particular time. He is too fat for that now, but yeah. He sits and watches me. I think he knows what I am doing as he has also jumped in the tub, backed up to the drain and peed! I would say yuk...but I can clean it real easy and that's one less lump I have to spoon out of his litter box.

All my cats do this as well. Usually all three, at once. Cat comes for "commode pettings!"

This is crazy cat behavior! Peeing in the tub while you go! LOL! And I love that Pat (Fayerody) actually photographed her 4 dogs coming and going while she was in the bathroom!...only Pat!
Also interesting that several have commented that they have Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat who does this!
