When I feel depressed or the like I like to color. I have a set of 152 Prismacolor colored pencils and a set of 150 Crayola crayons. I use the colored pencils on my adult coloring books, and the crayons on my more child friendly coloring books.

Anyone else like to color?

Haha, I once told someone I enjoyed 'adult' colouring books. I was mortified later when I found out what she assumed that was!!!!

I am having trouble finding decent coloured pencils that don't break when I sharpen them.

I love coloring. In fact I'm working on something now while on break from groups. I made a coloring social group here for anyone who would like to joinColoring.

I like to color too. The only problem I have is that some of the books can be so detailed and intricate, it's a little overwhelming sometimes.

Gina, I have some intricate books, but also have some kid friendly ones. Which I use depends on my mood.

I just bought a new electric pencil sharpener, as the one I bought earlier doesn't work. This one actually turns on and sharpens the pencils. It's amazing compared to the paper weight that is all the old one is good for.

Now I can sharpen all 152 of my Prismacolors without having to worry about blisters!! Oh the coloring I can do now!!

BlueKoi, that picture is looking amazing. Do post another when it's all finished!!

Lol....I have thought about that wording also when I tell people about the coloring books I do also.

I found some that twist out so no sharpening needed. I think they are by crayola if i remember right. I also like using markers for deeper, brighter colors.

Join the social group..the more the married.

I have also found some great pics on pint rest to print out & color a lot less expensive then buying the books & I get all the ones I like this way. I just entered "adult coloring" & really good coloring pictures come up....lol NOT X rated either

I do color occasionally. Could be mandala coloring or something from Game of Thrones. That is indeed some adult coloring, if you know the plot. But wiki says it is good for your mental wellness, so I am doing it for the greater good: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coloring_book
If you feel like doing some decidedly non-adult coloring, pick up some coloring page for kids and do it - Coloring page - Motorcycles
They are easier to finish, by the way.
Oh, and I loved Blue Bird's cat. Reminded me of some Native art.

I got a new smart phone with more memory. They have coloring apps for the phone & iPads.....would be easier on a larger iPad for sure....ok, I'm spending way too much time on this new found hobby....but the results are beautiful. Pinned the ones I could to my pintrest board. Strange because loosing my other phone, I lost the pins I had to that account....starting over now.

I don't know why, but I'm procrastinating on coloring. I should just plunge myself into it and stop sitting there looking at the books and colored pencil cases and overthinking things.

I also wanted to ask if anyone feels happier looking at a box of crayons or colored pencils. Do all those bright and cheery colors just lift your spirits up like they do mine? It's been clinically proven that looking at a rainbow of bright and cheery colors helps to lift a person's mood. Also, anyone else love the smell of Crayola crayons or is that just me?

I love to color! I have the 120 set of polychromos and the 40 set of Caran De Ache Luminance. And I'm keeping my coloring book count to under 20.

I seriously feel happy when I look at my pencils. The colors lift me up. I could stare at them all day.

I used to enjoy coloring but I have not done it for a long time now.

I am working on a paint by number painting though and that is fun

I love coloring, I have 4 adult coloring books, 2 boxes if crayons for less intricate pictures, and colored pencils for the more intricate ones. The only thing that sucks is I'm legally blind so the really intricate ones are hard to almost impossible for me to do.

Here's one I did a couple of months ago.

Artchic, that's a good idea and sounds fun. I think its really helpful to have a go to activity for when you're not feeling good mentally.
