I just opened my computer & everything on the screen is HUGE! I checked my display size & it's 100% which is recommended. So no change there. I presume this was brought about by a Windows 10 Update. This is going to take some getting used to! Anyone else having this experience

You know what they say about HUGE screens!!!!! HAHAHA *wink wink*

But no I don't have an issue with it on my computer.

If it does bother you, just adjust the screen size that's all.

Mine is... but that's because it's a 40" 4K monitor.

That aside, Win 10 has more of a OSX style dynamic scaling which works better with high PPI devices like tablets and whatnot. Just tweak it to whatever you're comfortable with.

Eventually, most apps will have vector UIs and they'll be no such thing as "right" scaling.

Probably a resolution issue. Check to see you're on your display's native resolution. If you've just updated to Windows 10, it may have screwed up your display driver somehow, so look into uninstalling it and installing an appropriate one, if you get no luck elsewhere.

That's exactly why I gave up in despair and have moved over to a Mac. Fixing stuff took over my life and I ended up doing more of that than actually working, and lost patience. I use Parallels so I can use Office products. It's taken getting used to in terms of automatic things like keyboards short cuts that I always use, but OMG the RELIEF

It wouldn't be a computer help thread without the obligatory "get a Mac comment".

I don't like Windows 10. Hard to find things. I have another computer which came with Windows 8, and I'm leaving it that way!

Thanks to everyone who replied! I thought I would just post an update for anyone who might be interested. Everything on my computer screen continued to be super-sized until yesterday. When I opened my laptop yesterday, I found that in addition to everything still being super-sized, I had now lost the ability to use my e-mail account. (In retrospect, I also realized that I had previously lost my "Sleep" icon. But I didn't realize this until I got it back.)

Anyway, I fiddled around a bit & couldn't figure out any way to re-activate my e-mail account. So I decided to try restarting my computer. But rather than simply shutting it down & then opening it back up, I clicked on the "Restart" icon itself. When it came back up, everything on my screen was back to its normal size & my e-mail account worked again. (I also had the "sleep" icon back... which was the point at which I realized it had been missing.)

The only thing I can think of is that a Windows 10 update (which I'm getting quite frequently) somehow messed with the workings of my computer. Apparently simply shutting it down, & then re-opening it sometime later, did not fix the problem. However, running the "Restart" function itself, did the trick... I don't understand computers!

Are you sure it wasn't Windows 10's version of Safe Mode? Safe Mode typically disables many features in order to fix certain issues within a cleanish environment. Although I can't imagine you not getting a really obvious "Welcome to Safe Mode" message or something, like in previous Windows operating systems. Still, bizarre. Glad I didn't get Windows 10! Glad it's working now though.

Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about the "inner workings" of computers. Back when I had Windows 7, I could often poke around & find a way to correct minor problems that developed. But Windows 10 is different... or at least it seems so to me. When things go wrong, I just can't figure out what to do. I have to defer to a computer tech person. From my perspective, Windows 10 is quite a bit less "user friendly" for the average non-tech person. There's a major update coming August 2. Who knows what problems may lurk within that when it arrives!

I used to have Windows 8 and I liked it. The library has Windows 10 and I do not care for it at all. It "messes up" too much.

Now I have iOS 7 on my Macbook Pro and I love it.

Skeez, I'm glad things resolved. Anyway, here's a tip: Hold the 'control' button down while you scroll. That will change the size of whatever is on your computer screen.

Hang onto your internet Skeezyks! I hope you'll survive the dreaded August 2.

I used to always feel that the auto update was just messing with my computer when I saw that happening, I just didn't like too many services running on the background.

Was the screen big and blurry? Like someone said, it was probably the resolution settings, I'm glad to hear that nothing really bad happend to your laptop like the need for reinstalling. No one wants to deal with that.

They still call them 'patches', right? Cat and mouse game, that's what we are witnessing, and the true user experience gets left behind...

I didn't know it had a codename, they are being so geeky, arn't they? I'm looking at google right now and I'm finding older articles, like rumors from earlier time, is it coming? is it coming? I'm sorry it just sounds like a dooms day coming and not really a good update. And there'll be another next spring.

It's not much of a problem if home users are receiving the updates, this is concerning though, our goods and services rely so much on these computers and Microsoft could cause chaos in our lives.

What's the upside? It's rhetorical question, I'm just wishing good luck to everyone!
