I am as hot and sweaty as can be right now. I feel like just standing in front of the open fridge, but that isn't a good idea. My house is 85 degrees F and so uncomfortable. I can't even lay on the couch without sweating. Mom is going to call a repair service ASAP. This weekend is supposed to be in the upper 90's here. Having no air is unacceptable.

I have no air conditioning in my apartment and it's been in the upper 90's for the last few days. I'm currently in an IOP program, and today I got to the hospital an hour early, simply because they have air conditioning.

Broken A/C is literally not an option for me, I hate being hot. Sorry you have to deal with this. XD

Oh yikes, I'm sorry... I definitely don't handle heat well, and hate when the AC goes out.

Is there anywhere you can go to cool off? Do you have a library nearby - sometimes they'll have wifi (if not, they usually have actual, old-fashioned computers!) so you can hang out online there and be a little less hot. Plus, it can be fun to wander around looking at books if you like that sort of thing!

Good luck, I hope it gets fixed fast!

Soak your wrists in very cold water for a good while, at the same time, have a cold flannel on the back of your neck. That should help. I do that when I get headaches because it cools me down. Dunno if that would interfere with any special medical conditions though, so ... there is that.

I hope it doesn't take too long to fix it. It sounds costly too, if that's not the repair service that you/your mom never used, I guess it won't hurt to look some up on the internet for what they do and stuff. Cold shower, maybe? Hang in there. And you could also go to a shop and stick your head in their freezer.

Can you go swimming? Mall? Library? Visit a friend?

It's 98 degrees here and feels like 105. Broken air conditioners are awful. I hope you get yours repaired soon. We've used a company called Del-Air a few times in the past.

I have my AC set on 80 because it's going to ne 100 today and I can't afford to have it cooler than that. But 85.. That's just too hot, I hope you got it fixed already!

It's fixed. Got a repair man out late last night and fixed it. Now we can be comfortable in the house.

Oh yeah, sleep was blissful after the air came on. Before? Not so much.

I'm glad we have a cool summer, just a few hot days. We get up to 90 F and no one here has AC, it's simply not part of the culture. People do not even invest in a table fan (as I have done). Opposite to that, on the hottest days they often go out to fry in the sun. Complaining about it being hot is next to illegal here. And the weather man always calls really hot weather "good weather".

I feel quite different to people living here having problems with the heat. People here thrive on it. Still, hearing someone thinking 85 F is AC weather is strange even for me. I'm probably damaged by my sun/heat worshiping culture, but the need to keep a constant of say 70 F is foreign to me.

Have a HOT shower - I'm not kidding. When you step out, your skin will feel cool compared to the ambient temperature.
