I hate this heat, I hate this weather. I hate hate hate everything about it. I can't afford air conditioning so every year is HORRIBLE.

I hate being hot, I can't sleep in it. I hate it, I hate it. I hate it! If I had the money I would move to Alaska and just stay there.

Ok rant over.

Anyone else hate this heat?

I sympathize! I wrote a long rant here during our summer which is December - March. (South Africa). Air conditioning is a luxury not the norm here, so we don't have it either. The heat last year and early this year was stifling. Couldn't sleep, could barely breath. Shower, put make up on, sweat sweat sweat and it all runs off. Flies everywhere! We're in the middle of winter now but except for a cold front two weeks ago, it isn't really cold.

I used to love summer, now my tired and overweight body cannot bear it.

I know how you feel!

i liked summer when i was able to swim every day.

i hate it now because im sweaty, smelly, getting bit bugs and i have to take the bus or walk everywhere i go. some other people can just go straight to their air conditioned cars...

i hope you have a fan of some sort in your house. that is all i have in my bedroom and my family will only turn on the air conditioner in the house at certain times because it is hard for them to afford it also.

then again i will be complaining just as much when it is 20 degrees fahrenheit outside.

Mosquitoes in summer, A trip to an Alaskan outhouse during the harsh winter. No thanks, I'll take the heat till I drop dead.

It takes money for me to enjoy the summer. Camping costs a fortune. Park enterance fees for the lake cost money. Gas in my car to get my kayaks there costs money. All the summer festivals cost money... Seeing these things go by without doing them causes enormous depression and for me results in hospitalization.

(this year someone is taking me camping - I have grand hopes)

I love the summer but I do have air conditioning in the house.
I can cool down when needed and it great when sleeping.
If I had no a/c to ever cool down I might feel differently.
Like everyone on here knows I love the saltwater life style and that is
a summer thing so I guess I would rather deal with the heat.
These days I can't deal with winter and the cold at all.

I can totally get behind this. I'm a single mom. Camp and activities for my 11 year old daughter are financially breaking me - I'm spending over $1500 on camp ALONE this summer. Never mind keeping her amused the rest of the time. The heat sucks, I hate shorts, skinny people in bathing suits... I hate all of it.

Hmph.

Mr D, if you love the cold then you're certainly in the right city for it, lol. That killing wind off the lake when it's too-cold-to-snow in Chicago just about did me in a few times. My late husband was undergoing chemo @ U of Chicago, and I would go outside, huddle in the corner w/a few other idiot souls, and smoke 2 cigs in rapid succession -- then go inside & take 2 hrs to thaw, lol.

One of my kids is a Cold Weather Guy. Hates heat, rides his bikes everywhere in a foot of snow. smh He was born In Dec. so maybe that's the cause?

Lady Shadow, so sorry for your discomfort. Body-Misery makes everything else SOOO much more difficult to cope with. I grew up with no AC, but now I'm a wimp -- I hate being too cold as well. Fiance' is v susceptible to sunstroke (he's had 3 or 4) so he gets v upset if he cannot cool down. I put wet wrung-out bandannas in the freezer and tie them around his temples, wrists, and throat when he overheats. Helps I guess.

xo,

Chyia, not a snow owl

Although there are things I do like about summer, vacations and stargazing being two of them, I hear you! The heat, the Mosquitos, yeah. I tend to get depressed in summer too more than the other seasons. Fall is my absolute favorite season, and I can't wait for the crisp cool air, apple picking! Halloween.

A/C is just killing our electric bill here, and it hasn't gotten really hot yet.

Both I and my spouse overheat easily, so we just pay out the nose and deal with it.

Everything looks nice though, except for the grass because it could use some water.

I grew up in So. Calif & lived in the Mojave desert for 20 years before I left my H. When working in AC buildings it wasn't bad but the last 13 years I was out in the 115 F heat riding my horse....even in the evenings. Even drinking water I would constantly get dehydrated. Spent many hours in the ER getting IV fluids. We had & used our central AC there. But the AC in our brand new home went out 1 month after moving & right after I had knee reconstruction. It was 100F inside my house & my leg was in a cast so I couldn't even drive anywhere & the neighborhood houses weren't lived in by many so there were no neighbors to go visit either.

Here in Ky, it gets into the 90's but the humidity is high so it feels hotter than it is. I have a new heat pump system I put in my house after paying my farm. It does heat in winter & AC in summer. I have been refusing to use the AC because of the high electric bill so I have a ceiling fan over my bed, table fan in my computer room after damaging my ceiling fan in that room. I have a ceiling fav in the family room & in the kitchen & a window fan that can either bring in outside air or blow out the hot air from in the house. It keeps me comfortable unless it gets in the upper 90's then I break down & turn on the AC . I hate going from outside heat into cold. Haven't been sick living without AC like I did with AC so that is positive but I also have no energy to work around the house in the heat either so that's not good. Living alone if I don't do the work it doesn't get done.

The one thing I do hate are the chiggers. They love Queen Anne lace plants & my fields were covered with it this year. I wandered across the field without spraying with repellent & got a dozen bites. They itch worse than mosquito or spider bites ever do. Worse than Chinese water torture. That is the ONLY thing I don't like. I LOVE the fire flies ( lightening bugs). They are so special. Remember being so excited when I first moved here to find them twinkling around in the grass & in the trees....looks like trees filled with twinkle lights.

ABSOLUTELY. I despise it as well. We don't typically have AC over in the U or the K. It's been really hot over here lately. Today was unbearable. x_x Been sat in my boxers for most of the day. >.< Too freakin' hot.

True, so many events cost money. And I don't have it.

Anyone else hate this heat?
YES, I do!!! Not only do I hate the heat, I'm getting "hot flashes" sometimes so it doesn't help.

My a/c is one of those box things on the wall but it's really just a room a/c. It's not powerful enough for the whole apartment, so I don't use it unless REALLY suffering (dizzy, queasy, etc.). Plus it's COSTLY and noisy to run!

I also hate how the weather man/woman seems to think hot weather is great, smiling and saying it's "beautiful" weather! I think not! Not everyone likes the heat or can go to fun beach barbeques and other fun summer stuff.

I also have trouble sleeping since there's no a/c at all in the bedroom. I can only get cool air late at night by opening the window, if it cools off enough at night and sometimes it doesn't.

And opening the window means I get the noise from neighbors even more. I'm so glad we don't have a pool because in the summer people are noisy enough as it is. They have the tendency to have their windows open more and to have parties.

The ones that use the a/c create a hum that drives me nuts and can keep me awake! They run it at high speed for hours and I can hear them running, even from the next building. It's annoying.

Also, there's more insects around in the summer, and I'm PHOBIC of them! I also once had an ant problem since when it's hot they come inside looking for water. I've had them in my kitchen for weeks not long ago. They were by the kitchen faucet mostly.

Hard on one's body to go from a place with a/c, like the grocery store, to my HOT car, then HOT apt. Since it's too hot to go walking, I have to go the gym which is too cold at times.

And it's too hot to walk to some places I usually walk to these days, so I have to drive. That means the stress of traffic gridlock that as a pedestrian I can avoid.

There's not much on TV in the summer, but too many shows on in the fall.

I think that's my rant for now.

When I was much younger, like in my teens and 20's I loved the summer or at least the heat cause it meant going to the beach with my friends, to amusement parks, etc. But now I don't have even a fraction of that life nor anyone to go with anywhere. I can't wait for the much shorter, darker days of fall. But it's still hot then too. Still, one of the reasons summer is so miserable is that it takes forever for that stupid sun to SET!!! And I use so much sunscreen too (I use it in winter too but the sun is stronger in the summer), plus an umbrella, to protect my skin.

Believe it or not, one of my favorite things used to be to sunbathe! Bake in the sun all the day trying to get a tan......This was in a era before the dangers of the sun were known. I cringe now thinking what I did to my skin, and the sun damage from my youth is now showing up. It takes years to show up on your skin!

I also hate summer.

Well, when my dad mentioned growing up as a kid with only an outhouse instead of an indoor bathroom, especially during the brutally cold Minnesota winters, I learned not to complain too much about the summer's heat. Nothing like hearing stories about someone literally freezing their backside off while answering nature's call to make you appreciate what you've got.

Lol...nonightowl....when I first moved away from the dry California heat to the humid hot Ky heat. At the same time hot flashes hit but I thought it was the weather not hot flashes as I had no idea what hot flashes felt like....lol went through most of my hot flashes not knowing what was going on until the really cold winter hit & I was still experiencing them. Then it hit me what my body was doing.......Only lasted about 18 months but that took me through 2 summers.

Ok...hating the heat this summer. Picked up a bug & am coughing & running a temp...just over 100.5F between the ibuprofen to keep the temp down. Miserable time to be sick. I may break down & turn on AC if I can get up enough energy

I hate summer too. About five years ago, for two years in a row, around the exact same time, I ended up in a psych ward. I don't know if it was the heat that made me nuts or the change in routine (I was in high school then). Summer has never been fun for me.

I forgot to say that another thing about opening my windows is not only the noise but the bright lights from the parking garage. I know they are there for security and that's good. But at night they beam into my bedroom like a neon sign!!

Then, I try to wear an eye mask but that's too HOT.

We also have all these wild fires at this time of the year, continuing into fall as well--when we get the hottest temperatures. So I sometimes get the smoky air as well as the HOT AIR, not to mention the fine layer of ash on my car.

And people seem to like to have outdoor barbeques when it's hot, therefore all the smoky fumes blow right into my place cause of the direction of the wind. It's ALWAYS towards me, so I then have to close my windows until the smell goes away.

&^%*(#@! summer.

Spring is my favorite season in spite of my allergies acting up. The days are comfortable with cool nights, like I wish it was year round.

It's always been easier for me to warm up than cool off. I mean you can only remove so much clothing until you're naked and STILL sweating like pig!!

And now that the days are getting shorter, the sun is a bit lower and soon it will be beaming relentlessly on the side of the building where my bedroom is----heating it up all day so when it's bedtime it will be "nice and toasty". My bathroom is right next to the bedroom so the humidity from the shower goes straight in there, and using a fan to keep it out doesn't help due to the configuration of the apartment.

Whoever designed that building needs their head examined. It has this center part which holds the heat like a canyon and sounds echo like a canyon too.

I do hate merely stepping outside for a few minutes and almost being suffocated by the thick, humid air and dripping with copious amounts of sweat on a blistering hot sunny Southeastern Summer day, and feeling like I ran a marathon just getting my mail.

It makes for one hard time playing Pokémon Go as well.
