*sigh* I have to go back to work tomorrow. Have been on vacation the last week and a half.

From a physical standpoint I probably need to go back to work to get some rest. I've been involved in some majorly physically taxing projects while I've been home. I am doing a whole lot of nothing today. Am reading a book I'm really enjoying (The Orphan Train) and vegging.

I'm retired, but I hate vacations. Every time I take a vacation I need a vacation from the vacation.

10 days ago, my girlfriend said, "kindness" can my son (a 16-year-old boy who lives in Jacksonville (my girlfriend gave custody to her then boyfriend when the kid was 2 because of her schizophrenia (I also have schizophrenia))) stay at your house for 5 days? I felt bad for her and said yes. The kid was a pain in my butt from the moment we picked him up to the moment we brought him back.

In Jacksonville, my girlfriend asked me if we can spend 5 days in Saint Augustine. I said no. I was tired, didn't want to spend 5 days in a hotel, and I wanted to go back to Tampa. She was okay with that.

I'm 52, and there's been fleeting moments when I've regretted not having children. Well, after 5 days with that kid it will be some time before I have another fleeting moment.
