Kira Breaking Stereotypes: Volume 3

Kira loves superheroes, but not superhero movies, and especially not superhero video games. She has been looking at superhero comics, but not reading the dialogue. She loves the pictures.

She doesn't know English, and there are no Finnish or French comic books that are not cartoony available to us.

Kira also collects Pokemon Cards. She watches the show, but doesn't play the games or the card game. She buys the cards because she likes the pictures, the same reason as the comic books. Kira especially loves Pikachu, so I buy her some cards with the yellow mouse on Amazon, eBay, yard sales, etc. We also buy blind bags and sets of cards.

Is it okay if an anglophobic girl likes these things? There are English text in the comic books and the cards, but she pays attention to the artwork.

I'm a bit confused here ...

You are so lost in this other person's life, I can't help but wonder ...

What is your relation to Kira?

Why are you focused on her and her issues instead of your own?

It isn't healthy to be so consumed with "fixing" someone else.

With that being said, PsychCentral is an awesome place to get input and support ...

However, I truly believe it might be helpful to you (and this Kira person) to also get some professional help from a therapist that practices near where you are living.

Sincerely,
Pfrog!

I have aspergers and ocd so I really need help for her. I babysit her sometimes, and I am proud that she is breaking stereotypes.

I think you are becoming a non believer, like most people in other sites I have been to.

She's 16 and needs to be babysat by you?

It's not that I'm a "nonbeliever"...I'm not invested. I help members.

Well, she does not want to get out in the world sometimes because of her phobia.

How would the comic books and Pokemon cards be bad for Kira?

I have been thinking the same thing. If it is you then admitting is the first step in helping yourself. I also think you need some professional help with this situation regardless if you are Kira or not. I wish you the best of luck!

Do her parents know that you are posting about her and seeking help for her? Are you using her real name? When my daughter had a babysitter ( not at 16 though) id have an issue if her babysitter posted stuff about her online. If Kira is you then it's a different story but please speak to your therapist or Doctor

You say you have Asperger's....just how high functioning are you? Seems like you do have problems communicating a REAL need & understanding that this is a support forum for people, not. "FIX IT" forum as there in reality is no FIX for what you seem to be asking for & you are having a difficult time getting that understanding.
