I tend to be an obsessive type. I don't think I obsess on any unhealthy levels, though. I just sort of see something, like Crayola crayons, for example, and watch several dozen videos of people unboxing them, counting them, and/or coloring with them. I even saw a video about a man who collected any and all crayons ever made, amassing the biggest crayon collection in the world. This man literally wrote the book on their history, as no one else really had the interest to do so. Fascinating stuff.

Right now I'm focusing my crayon obsession in towards this one set, https://www.amazon.com/Crayola-Ultim...ollectionwhich contains 152 different colored crayons, including neon crayons, shimmer crayons, and metallic crayons. The thing is, I already own this set, https://www.amazon.com/Crayola-150-C...escoping+tower which comes with 150 different colored crayons, that also come with Shimmer, Neon and Metallic crayons, all in a neat telescoping tower tray.

Heh, maybe I should just be happy with the set I have, but I can't get over the fact that the "Ultimate Crayon Collection" comes with 2 more crayons than my "Telescoping Crayon Tower" did. Okay, maybe I am bringing this little obsession into something more than should be allowed.

I'm going to see which two crayons the tower didn't come with and see if I can buy them separately instead of buying a whole new set. Thanks for listening to me ramble on about crayons though.

On a completely random note, who finds the touch, feel and even the smell of Crayola crayons nostalgic?

Okay, I couldn't keep myself from making a whole blog post about my little crayon obsession. If you'd like to "read all about it", the link is in my sig.

Well, don't mean to triple post, but I just found an Ebay "auction" where you can make an offer rather than bid or "Buy it Now", and made an "offer" to a seller who was selling a box of 120 Crayola Crayons, brand new. The set even includes a plastic green (or red) sharpener in the shape of "Tip", the Crayola mascot. The price they suggested was alright, but I'm seeing if I can get a better deal.

EDIT: I couldn't get a better offer. Drats!!

I really like the crayola retractable colored pencils for doing my adult coloring books with. I can get them finer lined than with crayons.

LOL...I can kinda relate to your obsession but with markers along with those colored pencils......I took my box of them for the kids to use at VBS crafts that I was heading up......they said WOW, they had never seen so many different colored markers before including pens that are metalic. I mix & match what I use in the adult coloring books to give different textures......it's easy to get hooked on things like that.

I also enjoy my water color pencils....makes water color painting a bit easier because I haven't got the hang of water color paints yet.

Artchic if you love crayons then enjoy yourself.
It sounds like a cool thing to collect and obviously art is your thing.
I love art but drawing or painting is not my strong suit.
I wish I was good at it but I am better at working with existing objects
and creating from there.
More power to you.

Thanks Fishing Fool, Random Emotion and Eskielover. I do enjoy crayons, and plan on enjoying myself with a fresh new box now that I managed to scrounge up enough Amazon.com gift cards I had laying around. I can't wait to open that box!!

I love crayons and coloring more than anything but I haven't picked up a crayon in 3 months and 18 days because it reminds me of someone I miss too much. As a matter of fact my cousin tried to hand me a crayon to write something down last week and I said "No I need a pen".

But it is really fun and I love the smell and feeling of crayons. It always used to calm me down. I like to take the box of 90 crayons and make a rainbow with all the colors.

my husband and i took our daughters to "crayola experience" last weekend. it was really cool learning about crayons. if not for the crowds and two restless kids it would have been really nice to sit and color like other people were doing. it was way too crowded to do anything like that but it definitely was very interesting, and made me want to color when we got home

I love crayolas too, the smell is very nostalgic, I always got the cheap rip of versions when I was a kid and envied kids with real crayolas lol ....so now I enjoy buying lots of the sets for my kid (and myself) she collected various limited edition crayola art sets in the past but now her art supplies have turned towards kawaii themes.

I have an "obsession" with stationary and markers/pens/etc, fruit scented markers are my fave haha

I get it

Enjoy your new set and your collection :-)

I thought I was the only one, lol.
I love crayons, they remind me of when I was a child. I think I have around 6 coloring books, although I haven't colored in a while.

I share that crayola=nostalgia thought!

Every now and then, I see a box in the supermarket or something, start getting nostalgic and telling myself "I'll buy it and I'll do this, this and that YEEAAAAH". But of course, I never do anything in the end haha.
