Today is my birthday and I am now 45. I dont feel 45. Maybe I look 45 and am fooling myself but I just dont feel old. Am I supposed to? Am I supposed to care that I am 45? People act like its the end of the world but I am not really caring. Plus I have a juvenile sense of humor (in a good way) and love to joke and laugh. I am friendly too. Does anyone else in their 40's feel like its the end of the world?

Many happy returns Sarah and here is to the day. I am 43 myself, I think, could be 42 or even 44. I stopped counting years ago!

Happy Birthday Sarahsweets.
I found turning 40 hard, but after that it was a non event, until I hit 50. 50 was a bit of a nightmare, as I'm nowhere near where I imagined my life would be at 50. But I'm 51 now, and things are starting to turn around, so maybe my 50's will be ok. Enjoy this time of your life. splitimage |

Who cares what anyone else thinks? It's awesome that you have such youthful energy... keep it up and pay no attention to what anyone else says :-D

Happy Birthday, Sarahsweets!
I'm a few years older than you, and I don't feel old. I'm not old. I don't think I look old, either. My 20s seem like just a year ago. I think there are 90-year olds out there that don't feel old. It's a matter of spirit and attitude towards life. I suppose the fact that I never had children might add to my youthful feeling, but I don't think having children need age people. |

Mmm, I don't recall turning 45. 60 was a big event. I took myself to a Solon and had a total makeover. But I don't feel like I'm in my 60's. I still feel mid twenties but the mirror tells me otherwise

@sarahsweets Happiest Birthdays to you! Age is just a number. You've accomplished a lot in your 45 years to be proud of. Remember that!
I am 49. I sometimes regret the past 30 years of my choice but there's nothing I can do about it but look forward. It's not the 'end of the world' to reach middle age. I'm glad to be alive. Whatever I can achieve until my time comes, I am glad to be alive. |

Yeah, I'll be turning 57 next month and I'm kind of looking forward to it. __________________ Men wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success. -Ernest Shackleton |

Happy Birthday, Sarahsweets! Hope you had a good one!
I tend to freak out during the years that end with "0" - so 45 didn't phase me (I'm just a year older than you) - but 40 was kind of a bummer. |

I am 54 and neither look nor feel or act that age. But really who cares what age we are? And 45 is very young.

Happy Birthday
LOL....I just turned 67 a couple of weeks ago. I do not feel my age (except for a few sore muscles now & then). LOL.....most horse people my age are similar but I am still climbing fences, riding horses, hauling around 50lb bags of horse feed, & bales of hay, cleaning stalls & other farm work that is needed. Maybe it is what is keeping me young......who knows. I can actually remember things better NOW than I could when I was under so much stress before moving here. I can remember things I have read while before I would have to read things over & over to remember them. Maybe my 2nd childhood is much better than the first.......or at least a lot different __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. 3rd rock I LOVE your PC username. I am an addict of 3rd Rock from the Sun. I watch it on Amazon Prime pretty much every night. That tv show was ahead of its time and NBC effed it up by ending that show after 7 years. NBC execs have NO sense of humor. The husband-wife comedy improv duo who created and wrote for 3rd Rock were geniuses b/c their sense of humor was zany. And zany and silly jokes are simply the best. They translate well on tv.

I am 49 and don’t feel anywhere near that. Where did the time go? I remember when I was a kid and my parents and their friends turned 40 it was seen as a terrible thing, but fewer people see it like that these days, I think.
People who don’t know my age tend to think I am in my 30s. To me, some people my age look a lot older than me. I do try to care for my skin, pay attention to what I eat, exercise, etc., but I attribute it in part to genes. I look completely like my dad’s side of the family and people there seem to age well. My dad often was thought to be a lot younger than he was when I was growing up. (My mom HATED that!) I feel physically well too. I know several people my age with serious health problems. I feel very fortunate that I am not dealing with that. As others mentioned, age is just a number. And, I am sure you know what they say about the only alternative to getting older. . . Belated happy birthday! |
