This is another reason why I love Linux; the ability to do silly, pointless things. This cute lil thing follows my cursor the moment I boot up the computer:

I finally got a cat! ...kinda.

Incidentally, who remembers Snake on the Nokia phones? Well, now I can play it from the command prompt in Linux:

I finally got a cat! ...kinda.

PS
Click pictures to make them larger, if they're too small.

I've been curious about Linux in the past. But I have the impression one has to be pretty computer savvy to work with it. The Skeezyks is a computer ignoramus...

It does have a steep learning curve, to be honest, one which many Linux fanatics would lead you to believe is none-existent. But as someone who grew up with and used Windows for many, many years, from 3.1 to 8.1, I can appreciate the difference, and don't want to lead people into believing it's always so simple, although it can be, depending on what you use it for. Also, people have varying levels of ability and/or patience with these things, I think.

That said, if you stick to the basics (for example, E-Mail, web browsing, and typing documents) and stuff, especially in Ubuntu, you could probably get away with never using or rarely using the Terminal. (the command prompt in Linux) Friendly user interfaces are becoming more and more the standard in Linux, or at least in some distributions, which I think is fantastic as the lack of easy-to-use interfaces was my biggest gripe with Linux some years back.

Anywho, Ubuntu in a virtual machine is a common start for a lot of people new to Linux. If you're interested, you could search "VirtualBox" and "Ubuntu 16.04" on YouTube. Just please don't try to install Ubuntu (or any other Linux distribution) on your main computer (at least until you know what you're doing ) as you could definitely risk losing data. VirtualBox (software that allows you to create virtual machines) keeps things separate, except things like the Internet which can pass through to a virtual machine, if desired. As an example, I loaded up a virtual machine earlier and decided, for funsies, to completely destroy it from within it. xD

By the way, I'm not sure if VirtualBox is supported on Mac, but it is on Windows. (and Linux, incidentally)

Thanks...methinks I'll just stick with Windows 10.

That cat reminds me of the Giga Pets Cat toy I had growing up. Damn thing would always wake me up in the middle of the night, and die when it was around 2-3 days old. I guess that's what you get when you entrust your mother to get you the popular fad toy of the day, in this case Tamagotchi, and you got a Giga Pets Cat Toy instead. She meant well, I suppose, and thought I'd get a kick out of something cat related, as I was, and still am, cat crazy.

I finally got a cat! ...kinda.

I don't blame you. Linux isn't for everyone. xD

I remember Tamagotchis! I had one and loved it in early secondary school.
